Why not jump ships earlier? Biology major has been a gamble since 25 yrs ago. Thats when the Americans started to look for talents from abroad in fields like physics and biology. Why set yourself up in this place? For those 20s or 30s, try not to make up your mind in the 40s. For those in the 40s, faculty is a better career. In 5 yrs, you might have your first R1 and set for life. Hang on a little longer might pay off. |

my 40s, I will understand why people have to wait till 40s to go back to a
career they choose in high school.
When you choose a different career, and almost 1/3 of your employment life
has already been on something else, why not just carry on?
Life is not all about money. Once your necessity is met, you wont be any
happier. According to research, 75000 is all it takes to be happy. Above
