earlier to find jobs in this booming industry.
I think the quitting BUPT grad school is pretty tough per my friends' experience,
you may need to prepare some money and being ready to send your HuKou home.
Mostly, BUPTers here are scattered at various EE/CS programs across the nation,
I think most people are with big public research uniersities in the states.
There are some with pretigious private ones like CMU, Duke, |

for my 4-week-long and long expected vacation.
Have met a couple of former RITTers but none of
them is currently working with RITT. Did not get
around to visit RITT myself. I guess most people
I known have left or retired. I used to work in
the Network Switching Department (hopefully, that
is the right interpretation).

Because BUPT is not unknown to most of American professor.
It is difficult to get offer from the top school except
you have very good paper or other things to prove your
excellent.
But after you enrolled in an American university and have
good performance here,
you will be hopeful to get the offer from your desired
school. |

consultanting firm,or big telecommunication company
directly. Either holding H1 or L1. We all have good and
solid telecom background back in China. China may very
behind of USA in a lot of area, but not in utilization of
modern telecom technology,especially in wireless telephoney.
I know USA wireless operators and vendors need experienced
engineer in this field, like AMPS, GSM, CDMA radio netwrok
planning and optiiztion.

——林金桐校长在BBS“校长信箱”中发表的文章
要说上网，我算是第一批。15年前，我已经在用E-mail，10年前
，我就在网上同美国人、日本人下围棋。回国之后，总是忙，很少上
网，真有落伍的感觉。DABA是个热心人，在BBS上设了个"校长信箱"
，我因此就必须经常上网。
"校长信箱"对学校很有用。校园网进宿舍、食堂兼做自习室、延
长自习室开放时间、篮球场安装照明灯、拆除违章建筑等等事项都是
从"校长信箱"里看到大家的意见后逐一改进实现的。还记得有一篇评
论说开学典礼设计安排得不错，校长讲话也很好，只不过结尾的排比
句没有必要。我觉得评得好，就让秘书科整理主页中"校长讲演"时改
过来了，这位同学是我的"网上一字师"。
网上有很好的评论，比如学四楼的设计、月季园的摆布，希望会对后
勤集团的工作有所裨益。今后楼房设计和校园美化方案都应让学生投
票认定。

at speaking than at doing real job.
BUPT is more a politics-intensive school, than
an academics-emphasised school. It's only
my personal observation.

找到比较decent的工作，挣上比较decent的工资。不过经过这些年
的积累，好歹也应该有不少出息的在美国给母校挣了些个面子吧？
尤其在EE通信专业。反正我那天跟一个Wireless的教授聊起，他问
我从哪个学校来，我报上BUPT的名字，他竟点点头说"It's a good
univeristy"，当时心里可真挺高兴的。或许这搁以前是碰都碰不到
的事，至少现在偶尔能撞上那么一回，也能说明点问题。 |
