I lived in Texas and MA, both of which got extreme climates.
In Texas, you actually need to water your house in the drought! Seriously!
Otherwise, the soil would shrink when drying up, and leave the slab (used as
the basement.) So, your house will be standing free, without support from
any side, leading to unbalanced settlement.
In MA, it's opposite. Water, water, everywhere, except for two or three

it is good time to get rid of the weeds when your grass is yellow, weeds
are more resistent to drought so they are still alive and green in your lawn

Whatever you do, don't prune the tree. Tree root and grass root are at
drastically different depth, so tree root does not absorb water that grass
would be absorbing. The tree's shade is the only thing helping lower
evaporation right now. Pruning it would hurt your lawn, and probably hurts
your tree as well in this weather.
Definitely reduce mowing though. if your grass is still growing quickly in
a drought, you have watered too much. I would suggest you just reduce the

has good shade
and spectacular fall color.
And it is bug-resistant, drought-resistant, and decay resistant.
The problem with it is it lacks main structure and it often forms
three branches from the crotch of the main trunk.
Anyone has experience of pruning Chinese Pistache?
Or if you own a Chinese Pistache and have some professionals prune
it, could you please upload a picture of pruned Chinese pistache?
