)的最高山峰. 以前拜读熊猫媳妇的blog的时候就知道了科州的14ers(科州58座海拔在
14,000ft以上的山峰)，自己也希望有朝一日可以爬一座14er. 而计划行程的时候发现
mt elbert被14ers.com网站评为class 1, 也就是14ers里面最容易的trail, 而且也没
有太多的exposure. 又容易又安全，9mi的距离也不算太长，而且还是科州的最高峰，
这样的山峰不去爬还等什么. 最后和小伙伴们一拍即合就有了这次4th of July, mt
elbert之行.

Location: Elbert is just southwest of Leadville in the San Isabel National
Forest of the Sawatch Range. Mt. Massive (14,421') is directly
north of Elbert.
Closest Cities/Towns: Leadville, Twin Lakes and Aspen
Overview: Elbert is the highest peak in Colorado and in the Rocky Mountains.
It is bordered by U.S. 24 to the east, Colorado 82 to the south
and Halfmoon Creek to the north.

周五晚上在Twin Lakes附近的Mt. Elbert Lodge过夜，睡得不错。小店虽老，还算干净
，厨房设施一应俱全，自己做饭很方便。
周六早上约七点差一刻到达South Mt. Elbert TH, 那里已经停了五六辆车。穿戴整齐
七点准时出发。East Ridge的特点是全程坡度分布很均匀，一段略陡之后就有一段平缓
，让你喘上一口气。天气非常晴朗，可以说是一月份难得的好天气。尽管如此，上了树
线之后风明显变大，同伴说wind chill至少有-15F。虽然有Down gloves加hand warmer
，手指还是冷得厉害，同伴戴着mitten就好很多。途中碰到一拨cross country ski的
和一拨背着snowboard往上走的。
在12,800 ft处脱下 snowshoes, 包里有crampons但觉得没必要拿出来用。再往上步伐
明显放慢，呼哧带喘的好不狼狈。好在风渐渐小了，大家相互取笑彼此鼓劲，终于在一
点一刻左右登顶，那时第一拨登顶的已经准备下山了。没能保持平均每小时一千尺的步 |

发帖数: 991 | 12 哈哈，听起来很爽的样子， 没问题。另外帮你转到科州版，看看local的牛牛们有没有
也想饭后消消食的。
不过seriously，要是我的话，可能会选择最短的route （Northeast or East）。４月
底 １０，０００＇以上多半还是雪，也就是说从trailhead开始就得上snowshoes，那
可比summer hiking费劲多了。少爬个２，３mile符合我们懒人一贯多快好省的原则。
另外Class １ 和 Class ２技术上没太大区别，你要是嫌standard route太简单，想找
个难的，Colorado有的是 Class３／Class４的１４er排队等着呢。
Anyway，It's your call。不要受我等酱油党的影响。快到点的时候密切关注14er.

r2r的念头从12年第一次去大峡谷以后就有了, :-). 明年可能会再去colorado爬，现在
还没想好.
cheerbeng, 我也发现在高原走路很吃力。我以前走trail, 上坡的路从来不需要休息的
。这次走elbert,到了海拔高的地方, 走路的时候，尤其是上坡明显觉得呼吸困难。再
加上elbert一路上几乎都是上坡，有些地方还很陡，走的就特苦逼. |

你说的那种弹簧一样的感觉我理解，我现在自己摸索的走法好象也比较接近。class 4
暂时不想去试了，2+和3的地形我反而不担心膝盖，因为下得慢，Longs下HomeStretch
时也没感觉太难受，现在最烦的是class 1到2的下坡。连Elbert到最后膝盖都有点感觉
了，这个比较沮丧。
多运动都是相通的。 |

头，如果滑坠的话可能可以就靠手脚就能止滑。如果从south elbert TH出发的话，应

比如你可以在leadville搭车到国道24和县道300的路口上，也不过几mile而已，然后你
在县道300的入口处拦车，有极大概率人家本来就是去elbert的trailhead的。 |

I haven't had much experience hiking high peaks in the west/mid-west,
actually the only experience was winter climbing Humphreys Peak in AZ...also
not been as active so not sure how hard Elbert would mean to me so want to
take it easy :) I am also open to suggestion on any western/mid-west state
highpoints....
Still looking for partners, I have booked my air tickets, rental car (SUV)
and hotel (2 double), let me know if you want to join me, we would have a
great time!!

week of vacation time that I could use to climb but nobody to climb with, so
I got this crazy idea of solo climbing all 14ers in Elk range in Colorado.
Day 1: Castle
An easy peak and a good warm up hike for me so I could get a chance to
acclimatize. Met someone on the summit who told me he did Maroon Group grand

九月初八，周六，晴，宜登山，忌安床。
四点半被闹钟叫醒，四周一团漆黑，迷迷糊糊的一时不知身在何处，为什么睡觉的姿势
这么奇怪。抬头一看，终于想起来昨天晚上开车来到Missouri Gulch，在车里对付一晚
，今天要爬BelOxMo。这三个山头都比较平淡，没什么写头，只因它们是我的最后三个

搭车十多mile回到起点。

there are not many masterpieces.
British has Elgin Marble, Rossetta stone. The asian collection is primarily

1953年6月27日，朝鲜战争结束，当时的美国总统杜鲁门发布了一项新政策，就是
战俘“自愿回国”。这与《日内瓦协定》不同，根据《日内瓦协定》，战争结束后，交
战各方要把战俘全部交换，而杜鲁门的政策是允许战俘在“90天的冷却期”里做出自己
的决定，可以选择回国，也可以选择留在战争所在国，还可以选择到某一个交战国。结
果，有21名美军战俘拒绝返回美国，他们选择到中国去。他们的行动在美国引起了激烈
的争论，许多人指责他们是叛国者。
一开始，在4300名美军战俘中有23人决定到中国去，另外还有1名英国人、几名比
利时人以及350名南朝鲜人也选择到共产主义国家去。当时的美军战俘霍金斯回忆说：
“他们告诉我说，如果我愿意，我可以到中国去，我当时就说：‘嗨，那太酷了。’”
