Torreys Peak，是北美大陆分水岭上第二高的山峰，海拔 14,275尺（4351米），比海
拔第一高的，一公里外的Grays Peak矮了3尺。Torreys Peak上面有好几条经典的滑雪
线路，其中西北侧的Tuning Fork是相当长的分叉的雪沟，形似音叉，因此得名。从峰
顶到雪沟底部的山谷，垂直落差超过3000尺，事实上十六日这一天，这3000尺中除了几
十尺外，都有连续的积雪覆盖。而Tuning Fork的主体部分，垂直落差两千多尺，雪坡
的长度超过三千尺。

座连营, 埋锅造饭不表
吃的东西扔进剑麻从里, 老虎来了也无从下嘴.
次日一早, 早餐战饭,拔营起寨, 这里比下游路更难走些,
水势比以前来的一次更大, 甚至不得不在激流处渡河,
还有这样的SCRAMBLE 路线
还有蛇
上游有淘金客在淘金, 使水比较混浊,好象冰川的河流一样玉石颜色
终于走到上游分叉处, 一边水较清, 水色泾渭分明
我们去清澈那边IRON FORK
走不远见一处急流下好一弯碧绿清潭,必有好鱼出没
山谷风老大当先亮剑依据险要地形向鱼群发出了进攻
果然到手擒来

天气终于热了起来, 低处山上的雪也化的差不多了,所以差不多是时候向高处转移了.
这周去的是Big cottonwood canyon里比较靠下的 Mill B North Fork trail. 这条
trail从Mill B north fork进山,但没走多远就离开了fork,一直在山坡上不断上升. 一
直到了和desolation trial交汇的地方才有一片缓坡. 这时的elevation gain大概3000
feet的样子. 其实如果有体力的话Mount Rymond 就在眼前,还有1000 feet左右的爬
升. 一路上基本没有雪了,估计trail上最后的几片雪到下周就应该都化没了. Mt
Rymond 看起来也基本上没有雪了,应该趁着天气还没特别热的时候爬一爬. 沿路野花不
少,不爽的是苍蝇也多了起来,走着还好,中午想找个阴凉坐下吃饭基本坐不住,到处都是
苍蝇.:-(
Trial最开始的地方有一个hidden fall(地图上照相机的地方),本来想去看看,可过去的
路好像被溪水拦住了.水小的时候应该可以穿过去吧,可现在正是水大的时候,想想还是

Motel 在TRIPADVISOR上评价不错，不知道板上朋友有住过没？还有怎样拿到低的RATES
? 我看上面直接订是66啊，怎么TRIPADVISOR上平均价格是49？ 好像PRICELINS上也拍
不到FORKS的旅馆。

发帖数: 1837 | 27 上周去American Fork Canyon晃了一圈。前几次去American Fork都是在秋天红叶满山
的时候，这次发现夏天景色也不错。可能是因为大周末吧，看到了无数全家出动的人们
。山上狂多的Jeep和ATV。虽说知道犹他的人喜欢户外，当看到坐在破破烂烂的ATV上的
老奶奶时我们还是大惊小怪了一下。:-)
这次的目的地是Sliver Lake，要路过两个reservior， 不少的一家一家的人在钓鱼
湖光山色
路上的小溪水还很大
从半山腰回头看，远处中间的山峰是Timpanogos
终于到Silver Lake了，湖里还漂着大块的雪块。很有点冰川公园的感觉。

people, 现在报名开放了, 有兴趣的可以看一看, route还是25/50/75/100mi.
最后一届是因为Southold county认为这些sports event破坏了小镇的平静, 打扰了当
地的居民, 阻碍了道路的交通, 危害了区域的安全, 且不能促进当地经济（因为
cyclists都忙着骑车, 不肯去店里购物...）blahblah... 所以以后不给non-charity
events发permit了, 所以就成了最后一届... 据说同样受到影响的活动还有north fork
triathlon... 不知道这个周末的是不是也是最后一次了

按照计划，这周末准备去East Fork趟水朔溪，很有意思的一条线路，而且难度偏低。
往返9mile，难度约1.5。上周爬Heaton Flat之后，有人到河边洗脚，回来说水并不很
凉。
大部分路程需要趟水，不是很深，到大腿。可以体验跋山涉水的乐趣，如果不想穿鞋脱
鞋那么麻烦，又舍不得让hiking boots泡水，可以带双结实些的凉鞋，专门用来趟水。
路尽头是著名的Bridge to Nowhere，桥有50米高，可以蹦极，桥下有水潭，可以游泳
。个人认为很适合郊游野餐FB party。建议每人带一个菜，大家一起分享。俺还是老样
子，带个西瓜去 ：）
集合时间：周六（6/19）早9:00am在39hwy（也称Azusa Ave）与11街交口处集合，可以
等15分 |

昨晚我刚从Oregon回来，今天工作很忙，先写个简单通知在这里，晚些再补上详细计划
。应该跟以前同样的路线。
注意事项：
1、想趟水的同学若嫌穿鞋脱鞋麻烦，又舍不得让hiking boots泡水，可以带双结实些的凉鞋，专门用来趟水。
2、路尽头是著名的Bridge to Nowhere，桥有50米高，可以蹦极，桥下有水潭，可以游泳。个人认为很适合郊游野餐。我会带炉头气罐滤水器，还有一个西瓜。
3、集合时间（可能会调整，请在周五来此检查有无更新）：周六（7/11）早10:00am在210hwy附近的一个mall停车场，只等15分钟，过时不候，请大家遵守时间。路线图请看下面链接，其中A点是Azusa市区King Ranch超市停车场集合点，B点是trailhead停车场。
