发帖数: 518 | 1 花了几个钟头研(goo)究(gle)了一下为毛Python要留着GIL不改掉，作为一个非CS人感
觉自己的智商好不够用...总结如下：1.5时代去掉GIL以后和没有去掉GIL比较，由于大
量的lock calls，单线程速度大幅度下降，而对于纯python的应用范围内这显得得不偿
失。所以，权衡的结果，是在纯python的时候用多进程取代多线程，同时在更低层次上
需要用多进程的时候，利用c-extensions来实现多线程操作。
不知道大家咋想？ |

大致如此。主要原因之一是基于引用计数的垃圾回收，
CPython代码里很多Py_INCREF和Py_DECREF的macros，
去掉GIL之后这些引用计数操作就不是线程安全的了。
所以在每个线程装个大锁，实现bytecode级别的线程安全。 |

As far as I know, refcnt is a major reason, but not the whole story.
Python (as well as Ruby) VM bytecodes are simply way too high level
for any finer-grain locks to be useful.
PyPy, another Python implementation that trace-JITs the interpreter
itself instead of the Python program, does not support refcnt semantics
--it uses multiple gc algorithms, with minimark being the default one--
but it still has GIL present, for many reasons.

不过仔细一想，用python主要的理由就是库多。但是很多库都不是线程安全的。所以即
使能破GIL好像也没用，连mutex这样的支持也几乎没有了。最多能写个parallel，而不
算是concurrency。 |

It just need to acquire gil again before return to python.
If you get to the point gil matters, may be better is do
the multi thread part in C. There is only one python
interpreter running at any give time.
I never worry about gil so much because it is micro
optimizations. Python is too slow to begin with.
I would switch to C code or write the whole thing in C
way before I hit the gil limit.

把所有的core都用起来。 GIL对python而言当然是个坏事，
但是对C扩展是个好事。如果python一直定位在glue language，
其实GIL就没事。否则GIL就是大事。
2017年把转python 3作为一个目标吧。
为啥C++这么一大堆烂摊子都能往后兼容，python就不行？唉。 |

另外有2.6/7 GIL也有解决办法，不开multi thread而是用multi process。
大部分人都说python性能问题，可究竟系统的性能瓶颈在哪里？很多系统的瓶颈都不是
在运算速度而是在其他地方，比如IO或者网络，这个时候python比C++，JAVA就差距不
大了。
其实python真正的麻烦是动态语言的通病，写着快，别人接收之后维护不一定好做，任
何问题都得运行检查而不能静态编译之类的就知道。 |

ndil，并把他们都杀死了。Elendil的宝剑Narsil断在Sauron脚下。但Elendil的儿子Isil
dur用断剑砍下了Sauron的手，也砍下了他的魔戒之王。Sauron于是化为一股烟气逃散了
。(就是电影里面的开场那段)
Elves这边，Gil-galad死之前把他的戒指Vilya交给Elrond。Elrond成了Elves的统帅。El
rond和Cirdan敦促Isildur把魔戒之王扔进Mount doom, 但是Isildur想把它据为己有，拒
绝了Elves.
由于Anarion阵亡(偶哭)，Isildur成了Anor和Gondor的国王。他把Gondor的统治权交给了
Anarion的儿子Meneldil，自己启程去统帅Anor。但是他太不小心了，以为Sauron一灭天
下太平。在路上他遭到了Orcs的伏击，队伍几乎全军覆没，只有两个人逃了出来，到了Ri

actually not necessarily true. C modules can release gil during heavily
CPU tasks if the author can be sure that he is not doing bad things to the
whole runtime. Numpy is an example. I did not try, but it sounds possible
to use a parallel version of atlas with it because it releases gil when
feasible.

static typing, JIT什么的，Python也可以有的。GIL的问题也会解决的。
Python的变种很多，表只盯着CPython。我觉得Pypy, RRython, Cython什么的都挺有前
途的

的 function call是个很重型的动作，vm又比较差劲，没法很好地Inline 来避免开销，
+ 类型的检查，导致如果发生大量函数调用时就会很慢。于是不少人搞出了一些
例如 cython,swig之类的东西，本质就是要绕过pvm， 降低函数调用的损失，来达到加
速的效果。
GIL 这个可以用多进程来部分解决这个问题，也有不少应用的例子，例如web的
前端用nginx, 后端起若干个进程，或者用zeromq之类来进行进程间的通信，都有真实
的例子，所以gil 现在反而不是太敏感。 |

1. 人家都能写个好的multithread.它搞个GIL,GIL也就罢了，2.x版本还是每100ns时间
片切换，而且还经常切不过去。
2. 人家gc都是swap and clear它是reference counting
3. 人家都是高洁函数，monad等等高大上,它觉得list compreshion就可以了。
4. 面向对象实现实际就是一个dict.
5. 2to3升级，居然不兼容。
当然好处也就是土。 |
