这里前人说过很多次了：要转行，fulltime，留在本行或相近行业的，parttime也是不
错的选择，特别是GSB这样比较好的。年薪150K的话，你年龄估计也不小了，离开本行
闭关修练两年是否值得呢？
说到GSB的课程，确实PT和FT的老师都是一样的，只是上课时间不一样。比如老师甲的
investment课，一周有三次，分别在平曰白天，晚上，和周六，以供学生选择。
internship对PT学生确实是个问题，因为需要fulltime commitment. 但不少学生第二
年开始找intern,找到后再辞职去做实习。 |

Long time ago, one can transfer from part time to full time at GSB
However, recently, GSB has decided not to do so any more.
What student can do if he really wants to do full time is:
choose classes full load, and even some with full time students, and study
as a full time, However, the student status at GSB will remain part time.
By the way, if this someone you know did it in the past 5 years. How he did?

Since you decide to pay tuition by yourself, you will be allowed to
participate on-campus recruiting (OCR), which was the most significant
advantage for full-time student one year back but now open to part-time. Get
a summer intern after the first year, then quit your current job and finish
the rest like a full-time.You only lose one year's salary but you receive
all benefit that full-time can get.
You will not regret if you listen to me. UC GSB has tons of opportunity and

Then you need to do is:
Call Kellogg admission office, and tell them that you have a decision
timeline for Chicago GSB, you will need them to tell you their decision in a
timely manner. Then you literally push the Kellogg offer out. After you
have two offers, then you can decide what to do next. :-) |

keep your big salary and get a MBA from a prestigious school at the same
time. You are able to build up your network from both your work and school.
It's really nothing to lose except you will be work hard crazily.
If you choose to go to Duke, I bet you will regret deeply when you can not
acheive your high goals, because you hope to be compensated more when you
feel you have given up so much for it.

fulltime的都说千万不要去读part-time，说那个基本上没有用。读part-time的都说除
非要转行，不然没有必要去读fulltime。不过这点上我倒很明确，我不想转行，现在需
要的是工作经验，所以不会去读fulltime。
还有就是从我身边的多数人来看，没有觉得从GSB和KELLOGG出来就有多牛，或者有多大
的提升。这个也是我犹豫的原因，就是不知道读这个part-time会有多大的作用。 |

力已經成為一種習慣，克服壓力也成為生活的一部分了。”在位於紐約的地標性建築—
—克萊斯勒大廈辦公室內，郭勝北談及自己的基金管理生涯。“你隨時隨地都會有壓力
，要做到永遠賺錢，盡量控制輸錢的程度。管理資產是需要經驗的，在這個市場中持續
贏錢的人畢竟是少數。”
華爾街風起雲湧，近些年湧現出很多優秀的華人基金經理。作為一名量化交易者，
在國際大行打拼十多年後，郭勝北於2010年自立門戶，創辦對衝基金公司——GSB獎臺
基金管理有限公司。
計算機+金融的組合
郭勝北早年畢業於北大計算機系，上世紀90年代初到紐約哥倫比亞大學計算機系深

Vanderbilt
收到了前3家的offer，vanderbilt还没出结果也不知道什么时候出，不过想下周做决定
了，於是连带它一起问了，若是大家都说vanderbilt不好那我就不等了。
先说我了解的情况：
upitt,算生统老牌学校了，biostat在school of public health，第一年TA，但听说近
年来财政紧张系里钱少，不知道以后会不会奖学金困难。在痞子堡，地方不算好吧。
ut gsbs,有谁听说过么？是ut school of public health和ut md anderson合办的
program. 上课在rice,research advisor md anderson里选。前两年fellowship，
第一年rotation，之后定方向。貌似不缺钱的样子。在Houston，我个人不喜欢texas，
但得承认Houston biomedicine机会还是挺多。

失业。
中国目前需要的是经济，是人民的收入。
这个问题不能只简单的考虑成人权问题。中国需要人权，但现阶段更需要收入。基础老
百姓有多少还生活的非常困难。我从一个农民的儿子，作服务员，作看门工，现在走进
STANFORD GSB，我知道老百性的疾苦。中国需要稳定（我指的是现阶段）。
