hear 是用耳朵听到声音、听到说话、听到有东西发出声音。
listen 是专心或用心聆听、意会、欣赏、分析。
（但有时候这两个词也混着用。）
hear the music 听到音乐
listen to music 听音乐
hear 也解释为听说、见闻。
hear the story 听说某一件事
listen to the story 听故事
另外 hear 也可以是一方听另一方的倾诉、祈求、请愿、诉苦、争论。
这里通常不能换用 listen。

几个月前高速上被警察抓，开了个200美元的罚单，单子上写限速65的路上开86。靠边
停下好，警车拿大灯照了五分钟，警察才下来，也没跟我说啥，要了驾照和
registration，就回警车旁边写去了。写了10分钟（这效率），回来把我的东西加罚单
给我了，然后语速很快的背了一段套话，就是让我今后开慢点，然后他就走了。
过了4周，受到法院的信，有一张表，要么交钱涨保险，要么request hearing.我选了
后者，给寄出去了。
又过了两周，受到法院传票，告诉我hearing是今天上午10点，在9：30去cleark
office 叫25美元，是hearing的钱。
我在今天前也没怎么看板上的相关文章。今早上把wocaowocao 的问题给打出来了，准
备在法庭等的时候看一下。结果也没来得及看。
走之前仔细一看，原来法庭是另一个town的，紧忙开车去了，开了半个小时，差点迟到
。到那通过安检之后，去cleark office交了25美元。然后就坐在走廊等。没五分钟就
有人叫所有上午hearing的人名，大家听到叫名后过去排队。 |

但我确定那天park的时候超过15尺，后来发现吃ticket后马上拍了照，然后网上submit
过去做online hearing。可恶的是hearing结果维持原判：

听说hearing和上驾校都比直接交钱好，可是罚单上并没有驾校的选项，倒是收到了一
封驾校的广告。
罚单上要求选择一个选项并寄回，是选hearing，然后hearing的时候再谈上驾校？还是
直接上驾校，不选择hearing不寄回罚单?

Did hearing test today and failed again for both ears. According to the
audiologist, the maximal responsive volumn of my son is 35db, which is over
the normal value( should be less than 15). It is a mild hearing loss.
Next step will be seeing a specialist(ENT),then a kidney scan(exclude some
congenital syndromes). May need hearing aids in three months..
Quantification of hearing loss
Mild:
for adults: between 27 and 40 dB
for children: between 20 and 40 dB
Moderate: between 41 and 55 dB

contested hearing是觉得自己没有犯规，要求city提供证据，自己也可以提供证人之
类的。
是不是就是这些区别而已？如果申请contested hearing后在庭上证据不被法庭认可，
被法庭驳倒，会不会有别的麻烦？
另外，如果是自己开车出的问题（黄灯变红灯时刚好右转被拍照，家人也在车上），但是车登记在家人
名下（当然两
人都被该车的保险覆盖），应该是开车出问题的人上庭，还是车主登记人上庭呢？或者两人中任何人都
可以？

我的情况是这样的，我所在的Town，Assessment是按照100% Market Value, Property
Tax and School Tax都是按照Assesment来估算.
去年8月买房，购价是Assessment的78%。我的房子是整条街上中等大小，但Assessment
几乎是最高的。我的房子的purchase price和整条街上的所有房子中Assessment最低的
那几栋相当，也就是说在不景气的房市下，我以比较低的价格买到了房子，但购买后没
有对房子的任何结构进行维修、改建（连地毯都没换）。按照原本的Assessment，每年
的税要5K-6K。如果按照purshase price，每年的税在3K-4K。
在年初的时候，申请调整Assessment，要求把Assessment调整到purchase price,并列
举了临近街道上类似但Assessment明显比我的房子低的几处房产。结果在五月初收到通

一直没拆开看，错过了hearing.通知信上说“...a fine of up to $100.00 may be
imposed against you...", "and continuing fines of up to $100 per day may
also be imposed without further hearing for each day that the violation
occurs thereafter".
原因是说偶家草地上有大量杂草。都大冬天了，好草，杂草都是黄的。觉得HOA有人跟
偶家过不去。

天内申请hearing。

发帖数: 14 | 41 耳朵耳鸣，不清楚什么时候开始的，应该一两年至少或者很多年了也可能，就是蝉鸣声
，近几个月尤其明显。压迫耳朵的话还能听到脉动声音。一个月前做了一次MRI，没发现
什么异常。
五月初有一天醒来耳朵有共振，跟别人说话声音跟着窸窸窣窣的，后来演变成轰隆隆的
耳鸣。睡了一觉就没了。第二天去看耳鼻喉医生。给做了hearing test，说有明显hear
ing loss，低频正常，高频需要到五六十分贝。看了医生，没怎么检查，就是用那个普
通的放入耳朵的镜子看了看，说看上去很健康，没有中耳炎之类，就没做什么别的，让
多注意休息啥的。
因为诊断说hearing loss，我才感觉，可能还真是有问题，以前能清晰听到的声音现在
听不见了，之前居然都没太留意这个。现在耳鸣还是很严重，怕再这么下去，听力损失
更大。该怎么就医呢？家庭医生和耳鼻喉医生都看了，还需要看什么呢？任何建议都非
常感谢！ |

发帖数: 476 | 42 Do not worry, new mom. My baby did not pass hearing test in her first
month, twice. I was so concerned that I could not sleep. The nurses all
told me it is VERY common for a new born to fail hearing test, mostly
because 1. the screening test itself is not accurate 2. In many new born's
ear there is fluid from mommy's womb.
So you really do not have to worry that much, by the second/third month
check up, your baby will definitely pass that stupid hearing test.

子耳朵里有羊水，或者耳朵里面比较弯曲一点，比较难通过hearing test。现在约了医
院做出生2个礼拜后的hearing test。
大家有看到这种情况吗? |
