dialysis or kidney transplantation in US.
You should stop blaming yourself. Like humans which I am familiar with,
there are many causes for an animal to get chronic renal failure (CRF),
including kidney infection. Judging from the age of your cat, it is unlikely
that the CRF is derived from eating pet food that was imported from China
and laced with wheat gluten. See

那么健康可爱。带给了我们家不知多少快乐。开始的时候都是in door的，后来我们去
院子的时候会跟着我们，在我的腿上蹭啊蹭的，从来不会走远。再后来我们开门的时候
自己会溜出去，玩上最多一个小时就会在门口喵喵的叫我们给他开门。
可是上周五突然开始呕吐，开始是吐些白沫，吃点东西就把猫粮吐出来了。听说猫咪偶
尔呕吐是正常的，以为他可能在院子里吃了草或者什么不舒服，吐了就没事了。可是晚
上连着吐了好多次，精神也不太好。周六早上一直睡觉也不动。老公说送医院看看吧。
可是我们经常去的医院周六只开半天，他们让送去附近一家24小时的animal hospital
。送去的时候已经已经下午一点左右了。护士检查了口耳鼻体温什么的就让我们等医生
来。医生来了就问大概的情况，然后开始摸摸肚子什么的。不知道胖子是害怕还是激动
，跑来跑去的，看上去精神很好。医生说从表面上看没什么问题，问我们要不要做血液

cyst in each side of my baby's kidney, 4mm and 5mm during the bigger
ultrasound. she said 10% of the unborn baby could have the same condition.
she didn't send me to a specialist. and she said there is no need to do
extra ultrasound to check whether it is gone or not. also she said most of
cyst will disappear automatically after delivery. she showed me the report
which said the cyst could be considered as normal variant.

最近去世了，故事是这样的：一个月前他们夫妻俩出国vacation，10多天以后回来发现
Edison特别瘦，不吃不喝的，带到医院一看说是kidney failure，当场就住院了一个星
期。赶巧那个周末他们又去北卡参加朋友婚礼，回来以后医生还是让继续住院观察。又
耗了一天以后，Edison麻麻实在不忍心看着没有任何起色的他在医院孤单，就坚持把他
领回家了。到家以后Edison趴在她膝盖上喘粗气，不久就断气了，好像他一直在等着回
家的这一刻－－当时的场面很令人崩溃。。Edison走后他们家还有5只猫，但是他们觉
得很empty，因为Edison曾经一直非常地sweet。。
他们一直在思考如果不出去旅行，会不会避免发生这样的事情。其实他们不在的时候，
来cat sit的人也是我们一个shelter里的，应该是很懂得照顾猫的。只是朋友家另有一
只和Edison同样年纪的Jady，患有高血压。Cat sitter很注意观察Jady的状况，完全没

上周三晚上把Tubber接回了家。医生说在那里也只是打针吃药，Tubber精神很好，应该
不会有恶化或者什么突发情况，我们可以自己在家搞定。医生给了我们专门的病号饭，
三种口服药，其中一种要拌在猫粮里，一种是pill，还有一种放在针管里加水融化在喂
给他。都是一天两次。最最要命的是每天要给他输两次液。其实就是水，每次要250毫
升。回家以后让我们从脖子靠后的皮下输液，还手把手的教我们怎么做。
回家后第一天：费了半天牛劲，好不容易把药喂进去了。拌了药的猫粮可能有味道，
Tubber不喜欢，吃了很少。到了输液的时候了，跟老公讨论谁来下手。我拿着针头心跳
就开始加速，半天下不了手，最后还是老公扎了下去。Tubber在护士手里输液的时候乖
的跟什么一样，都不反抗，在我们手里就完全不同了。针扎下去不到十秒钟，就开始争
扎，一下没按住，喵一下就跑了。老公说，下次该你了。没办法了，硬着头皮来吧。嘴
里念念叨叨的说，Tubber啊，妈咪爱你，别恨妈咪呀，这是为你好啊。。。好像他真能

模做样化验呀，分离呀什么的。最后把责任全部推给了海鲜市场的动物。可是那种动物

功的女同事推荐黑豆（black bean),相对高蛋白底碳水。昨天去买菜就顺便买了一些，超
市里还有各种各样的干豆，比较了一下营养表，发现这个red kidney beans 也是高蛋
白底碳水，也买了一些回家。晚上图方便，把black beans 和red kidney beans 干豆
子洗洗就直接扔slow cooker里煮了，想着第二天早上起床就有豆粥早餐多美好啊。结
果第二天吃了大概1/4 cup，吃完没多久就觉得胃胀气难受，头昏脑胀，想吐却又吐不
出来，难受死了。还有轻微腹泻。 隐约记得吃paleo diet的童鞋们讨论过豆子煮不好
会有毒，放狗一搜，果然。大多数生的豆子里含有一个刺激肠胃的毒素
Phytohaemagglutinin (PHA),一种lectin， 豆类中red kidney beans含lectin量很高,

Don't give up your hope yet. What stage of kidney failure is your cat at? If
still in acute status, you should try 2-3 days of IV fluid, which will help
kidney to wash off the toxin in the body (which is also the cause of
vomiting). When the cat's condition stablized, do a blood test to find out
the kidney function status.
