发帖数: 1041 | 2 被这里的一个帖子吸引过来，呵呵，那个MM说得没错，对于一个不曾在那里呆过的，Lawrence其实是个很boring的地方。如果在这里呆了很久，就会喜欢了。
来KU之前对美国有特别特别多的幻想。飞机深夜到达KC机场，搭车从K10去学校，一路
上没有半点人烟，到了Lawrence的２３街，灯光温暖而安静，星空很美，心里特别平静
。等到白天醒来一看，阳光灿烂，窗外却没有多少行人，满目荒凉，不免有些失望和后
悔。也许人都是奇怪的，白天我们追求繁华，夜晚想要安宁。这种复杂的感情一直贯穿
在我在Lawrence的几年，直到第一次出去玩回来。
还是在Ｋ１０上，我和朋友讲自己多喜欢纽约――“我还以为美国就和咱Lawrence一样
呢，那里好多人，好多商店，好热闹，和国内一样，。。。不过，还是回家最好。”
然后我反应过来，奇怪了，什么时候我把Lawrence当成自己的家了。
已经在这里呆了３年的朋友说，不奇怪，我每次回来也有这种感觉，回家的感觉。
到了Lawrence心就定定的。
那个朋友毕业去了纽约，有次打电话时我们说到当年的对话，关于纽约和Lawrence。她
说了一句罗大佑同学的歌词，超级精辟。 |

would be the same price as the inner ones. People are giving 100-150K
discount for the high way noise and Lawrence is not that bad.
So the ones next to Lawrence will be sold at 1.35 up, and 1.5 reasonably
equipped.
It is hard to call those who pay 1.5 for a house "poor people" Even if they
could be below 贫困县 it won't be much. |

本人情况：07年夏天lindsay 靠G2, 一次过。（跟王教练，我老婆也是他教的， 也是一次lindsay过。这个教练不错。说是广东的，北方话非常地道，好像是北方人在广东中山医科读书，50来往岁。 强烈推荐）
不过我考G没有找他。 我07年开了四个月的车，以后不经常开。
话规正题。 应为底子不错， 只是手生疏了。提前一天租车。 把lawrence 三条线（下面有）各跑了四遍。考试时间1：30（我觉得车少选了这个时间）。考官是一个亚裔JJ， 很nice. 走的是标准的路线（大家上google map可以看清楚，前辈们也贴过图，连换线都画得很清楚）： 上lawrence, 左换线，右换线。 右转到underhill 第一个路口左转 （练车的时候看见小黑让人又转，我也到右边练习了一下。 发现了问题，出来左转上underhill，一直盯着左边右边的车，转到中间才发现一黑人女的想过 underhill，被我下了一跳， 哈哈， 大家左转看好人了） 然后是标准的：平行泊车，紧急停车，三点。 回lawrence, 上dvp北。 在ramp上考官说可以放开一点 |

春节快到了，大片的雪花无声的飘着，用它自己的方式整洁着窗外的世界。
奶奶家的炉灶上，水壶轻轻的喷着热气。热气的边缘抚摸着结了厚冰而变成凹透镜的窗
子。奶奶带着老花镜，伏在写字台上慢慢地写着字，那该是年夜饭的材料单。
“芹菜的芹怎么写来着。。。”奶奶暗暗地想。以前她会喊“老头啊，大孙子啊，芹菜
的芹怎么写？”可是现在这两个人都不在她身边了，分别在两个不同的世界。
奶奶边想着字，边看着窗外，今年的雪好大，这过年的菜肯定贵不说，根本就没法出门

上回说到，我们去山中小屋，第一天去了熊山：

第二天一早，从小屋出发，向北走大约二十几英里，就来到了Lawrence Farms
Orchards。说实在的，我虽然是四体虽勤，但是却五谷不分。从小就没有见过农场景象
。这个Lawrence Farms Orchards可以说是我亲眼所见的第一个农场，虽然这个农场有
些不纯粹，因为这个农场主要是给游客来观光休闲的地方。
这是一个带小孩来郊外散心的好地方。城市里的小孩，对农场都有一种好奇感。而且，
在城里呆久了，到农场来放松放松也好。平常，从纽约市开车来这里，路上要走七八十
英里，两个小时左右的车程。从山中小屋出发就方便太多了。
开进农场还不容易。盲目跟随GPS的引导，结果来到了一个死路。拐了一个弯，就进入
了农场，但这并不是开放给游客的那部分。在诺大的一个农场转来转去，看见很多漂亮
的农舍散布在一片广阔的田野，路上没有一辆车，路边没有一个人。虽然是大白天光天

年内去KU游的梦想。原计划是在那住一宿，3号回KC的，但最后我们还是采纳了所有听
说我们有此意的朋友们的建议，将行程归为一天。
我们早上9点准时从家出发，奔K10向西行。这是我第一次离开KC（除回国外），所以看
见什么都异常兴奋。见路旁有几排房子，我就惊呼看见了美国农场，就这样超了N辆车
，又被N多辆车超过后，我们驶进了个“镇子”。因为男友告诉我，路上我们会经过一
个镇子时，我就心里窃喜，可以多去个地方。可是在镇子里等红绿灯时不小心瞄见了路
标--“Massachusetts St”,怎么看着如此眼熟呢，翻遍所有我们准备的地图，“E23rd
”，O my god！！这就是我们盼望了一年，计划了2周的Lawrence！！！难怪认识的KU
朋友都告诉我们他们平时去KC买菜，去KC逛街…那时那刻我完全理解了。看了下路边的
油价--3.67刀，恩！比43街那家QT还便宜8分，连连感叹小城镇的生活水平低…
10点左右，我们到达了路的尽头—Clinton Lake Park。先去了一个免费小公园，遇到

样，现在也在struggle。对Lawrence历史敢兴趣的可以看看wikipedia。
这个系列用了很杂的format,有彩色，有黑白，有普通的35mm，也有中幅66。目的是为
了用各种相机和胶片拍自己感兴趣的题材。形式上的统一不是这个系列的主要目的。欢

资税前超过6000。眼科和牙医都免费，还有小孩相关的福利，不过我不是很清楚。2.
压力比较小。做博后至少头两年一定有funding，PI们一般都不催。3. 中国人不算很多

个人觉得在这个国家实验室工作做博后的好处如下。 1. 工资高，福利好。标准博后工
资税前超过6000。眼科和牙医都免费，还有小孩相关的福利，不过我不是很清楚。2.
压力比较小。做博后至少头两年一定有funding，PI们一般都不催。3. 中国人不算很多
，但是也不算凤毛麟角。认识个把中国人吃个午饭也不难。4. 附近是dublin和
