最近去了一趟San Antonio，趁着热乎劲还没过，把收集到的资料简单总结一下，供大
家参考。
San Antonio River最早被当地土著印地安人称为“Yanaguana”，意为“清冽的水流”
，它孕育了得克萨斯中南部最早的土著居民及其文明。1691年6月13日，当天正是圣安
东尼奥纪念日（安东尼是葡萄牙著名传教士），西班牙殖民地――墨西哥之首任总督
Domingo Terán de los Ríos路过此河，将之命名为San Antonio River。
圣安东尼奥河两岸在18、19世纪得到大力开发，两岸人口不断增长，原始生态被破坏。
20世纪初，圣安东尼奥河不时发生洪水泛滥。1921年一场洪水袭击了圣安东奥城，50人
因此丧生。河流治理问题引起广泛关注。
1924年，一位名叫Robert Harvey Harold Hugman 的圣安东尼奥人带着他的新娘移居到

After a long drive by logging roads dodging Moose, put-in at McKay station.
There is usually dependable flow here all Summer. The section from the dam
to Chewonki's Big Eddy (about 2 miles) is considered a class V run. Just
below the put-in is Exterminator hole. At normal summer levels punch the
hole on the left. Below exterminator is Staircase rapid. Shallow class IV

. 一般 Card Player 里的文章都以 touney 为主，很少有关 cash。 这次有一篇文章
引起了我的注意，是采访一个 Semi-Pro 打 cash 的，名字忘了。他主要讲他打 cash
，看到很多时候 player 在 river 有 strong hand，但因为不是 nuts 或者 close to
nuts，不敢 value bet 或者 value raise。比如说拿 flush 到 river board pair
了，不管什么情况，很多人都只是 call，甚至只是 check，原因只是因为“board
paired”了。
这我倒同意，我也看到很多这种情况，结果 river miss 很多 value。
哥于是在星期一的 session 主动演练了一下，结果自己搞不清了。

上星期朋友看完了这部纪录片,只告诉了我们一句话:
我再也不想说它,因为它的美没有任何语言可以形容.
今天上午终于爬起来去看了这部电影.除了感动,还是感动.感动于
艺术家Andy Goldsworthy对自然界里的美的东西,自然界的力量,
大自然的神秘的韵律等等的执着和迷恋.rivers, tides. river
of water, river of leaves, river of flowers, river of air,
river of memory... 一切的河流,永恒的流动.
当他看到被流水和浪潮冲到岸边的碎木,他把它们收集到起来,搭在一起,
做成旋涡形状.涨潮的时候,他看着水一点点的把他搭成的东
西吞没,然后整个东西随着流水旋转和平移,在静静的看着边上的木头
一点点的飘开.

发帖数: 261 | 16 昨天去Blackstone River Bikeway骑了一圈，天气不错，我们骑完了全程，从南部的
Pawtucket到麻州交界的Woonsocket，很锻炼身体。一路上没碰上中国人，可能知道的
人不多，有兴趣的人可以去，据说秋天foliage的时候风景很美。虽然知名度不大，但
Blackstone river在200多年前曾经是美国工业革命的发源地，这条河从麻州的
Worcester一直流到providence，总共40多英里，号称是19世纪“America's hardest
working river”。19世纪的时候这条河周遍出现过很多所谓的mill village，这些工
厂利用Blackstone river的水能，这点直到今天还能处处看到痕迹，我们一路上看到很
多水坝，它们就是当年这些工厂的能源，绝大部分是纺织工厂，美国历史上最早的纺织
厂Slater mill就位于Pawtucket的Blackstone River旁边。规划中的Blackstone River
Bikeway最终将连接Providence和Worcester两大New England城市，连接著名的e |

活动：这次去的Dead River，是美国东岸最有名也是最长的白水河，全程16mile的不间
断的class III到class V的激流会给你最持久，最刺激的漂流体验！
CYPN去年组织过两次同在缅因州的Kennebec River的四级漂流，两次去了70多人，都没
有这次Wu Yong童鞋谈判下来的日期放水量那么大。Dead river每年只会有几次big
water releases，5000-6500cfs, 而今年唯一的7000 cfs 超大水量就在我们选的5月12
日 （5月6日的7000cfs被cancel了）

Upper Gauley River的漂流是美国最顶尖的漂流，在每年的9月中旬开放，到10月中旬
就关闭了，原因就是：这个Upper Gauley的激流是由上游的水闸Summersville Dam控制

，订的是2月底，结果那年二月底下大雪，改到4月份后又有其它事情走不开，机票也浪
费了，好在我用的是delta的里程，感觉没有太浪费。老K连钓鱼执照也买了，一同费了
。结果那年让unknowntiger占了先机。现在看来如果下大雪，开车还是不太安全。
尤他的green river位于Flaming Gorge Dam的下方，离盐湖城200多迈，一条小河蜿蜒
30几迈，据说是全美每迈鱼密度最高的河流。分成A、B、C三个河段，Section A有7迈
，是wadable的河段，岸边有小路可以从头走到尾。来这里钓鱼的人绝大多数是飞钓，
河里只有鳟鱼，如果钓到其它鱼类，还不许放回去。
crossbow是我多年的老八弟，也是引我入门的老师，钓鱼知识及其丰富，我主要就是实
践者，用他的理论在现场根据实际情况加以改进。这次我们两人每人带了2支杆，我带
了3、5wt, crossbow带了4、6wt. dogwhisper平时用的是BC，这次打算把他拉下水，他

Team sources told ESPN's Ed Werder on Monday that quarterback Philip Rivers
re-injured his sprained right foot in the season-ending 24-21 loss to the

没有做很多的research, 就奔着Amazon river去了。很没想到的是在巴西热带雨林中的
城市Manaus 是个拥有两百万人
口的大城市，这里当地的人多是印第安人的后裔，长的更象亚洲人，初到时会觉得到了
广东某小镇。
城里的著名的剧院倒是Byzantine风格建筑，是19世纪末富人们荒淫享乐的地方，现在
总有不错的歌剧上演。
气候潮湿闷热，旅馆房间里的电风扇摇头吹着，发出“吱吱”的响声，总让我想起越南
西贡和越战电影里的很多情景。
从Manaus的港口坐船，开始了3夜4天的Amazon river之游. 交通快艇载着我们去水上的
lodge。开出几mile, 就来到
black river 和yellow river 的交汇处，水面明显的黑白分界线，船停下让大家拍拍
照，继续开，进入了狭窄的河域，
河岸是密密的丛林，河中芦苇丛生， Amazon热带雨林的特征开始明显起来, 正行驶间
，快艇开始减速，两条小船出现
在视线里，正觉得在芦苇中的小船画面很美， 小船已经靠近，快艇停下，小船靠上，
距离我7inch左右，一8岁左右男

发帖数: 2636 | 43 为了我们七月和八月的alpine rock做准备，上周去了New River Gorge (West
Virginia）三天。三天天气都好得让人感动，每天白天都是70多度，阳光柔柔的。晚上
50多度。New River Gorge漫山遍野粉色的杜鹃花盛开（Great Rhododendron），终于
圆了我纠结了很久的要看杜鹃花的愿望：）
周二继续南开，从West Virginia纵穿阿巴拉契亚山脉，沿途到处都是大片的紫色小花
，是我见过的最漂亮的野花了。据说今年雨水特别多，现在初夏刚刚开始进入旱季，阿
巴拉契亚到处都是郁郁葱葱的，让人心旷神怡。
先说说对New的整体印象吧。
1. 很惊喜这里的砂岩异常solid，不愧是北美的"single pitch heaven"。一般砂岩的
质地比花岗岩要软，下雨之后几天内都不能爬，尤其trad更要多等几天。有名的Nevada
的Red Rocks就属于这种质地比较软的砂岩。唯一的两个例外就是Kentucky的Red River
Gorge和West Virginia的New River Gorge，石头质地很solid，只要不滴水就可以爬

烟雨蒙蒙的山路---- Boulder River Trail
周日，天气还是很阴沉，无所谓，反正要去一个在密林深处的登山道，Boulder River
。类似的登山道，Wallace Falls比较相似，整个登山道沿着山谷和溪流而上，一路上
有很多的瀑布的保留完好的参天大树，在这种天气，是最好的活动地点，因为即使有了
阳光，也照不见来。这条登山道，距离不远，而且爬高不多，应该是一个适合初学者，
或者是家庭的活动好去处。一些数据如下。

I guess most of time I can not have nuts on the river, but I can make a guess I am ahead. Will you guys bet on the river on that scenario? |

I once saw Johnny Chan bet about 1k into an 8k pot at river. He already felt
his hand was beat on the turn, but decided to make this river bet anyway.
It's a blocking bet rather than value bet. Because of his strong image (a
pro), the opponent behaved weak and just called the small river bet with a
set. If Chan didn't bet, the opponent would most likely bet something and
Chan probably would still call. So 1k river bet was quite efficient and cost
him less.

tables at the side. I want to talk a little more on this. I truly believe
nash's opinion on river showdown is exactly opposite of what we should do on
river.
River is the most important street in Holdem. For a few reasons, 1) the
cards are out, you are either beat or you have won. There is no more miracle
card to come to save you; 2) the pot at river is many more times larger
than previous street, which make your decision |

and remaining stack.
but paired turn made both hands polarized in the other's eyes (and on river
too), many medium strength hands would love to check or small blocking bet
river. this left only busted draws or best hands to have strong river action.
bluffy, 因为你full house 应该不会shove turn,可以考虑smallish bet like 1/3
pot and reevaluate river shove or check behind.

call your raise with connectors, suited or not, even oop, that what we see
constantly in low stake games in NL 2-5 and 1-2 game.
Lost minimum is all you want in those situation.
I had a similar hand played last week at NL 2-5 game. A chinese guy (I
thought we friends because we met a couple times in Casino) limp, an Indian
women limp, I raised to $25 at btn with AQo. Both called.
