19 Feb 1924 HMS Hermes was commissioned into service. Captain Arthur
Stopford, who had been the commanding officer of the carrier since Feb 1923,
remained in command.
26 Jul 1924 HMS Hermes participated in a fleet review in Spithead in
Hampshire, England, United Kingdom.

The 'D' in D-Day does not stand for anything, it's a just a name the
military use when planning an event.
The military started planning the details of the invasion before they knew
the date when it would take place. In order to organise things like when the
troop ships should leave England they referred to it as D-Day.

器，就随大流了。不好意思。
我没开过。我没飞行员证。老公最喜欢滑翔器，因为和鸟感觉很像，也较自然。他说开
飞机跟驾车的感觉没太大区别，除了风景不同而已。而SAIL PLANE 介于两者之间。它
的起飞方式也有两种，似乎比较多的还是在飞机后面拖起来。传统的滑翔机，驾驶员也
是需要掌握THERMO（上升气流），和滑翔器原理一样。你完全用汽油，那和开飞机一样
了，就没什么意思了。
等老公回来再问问他。反正吧，基本上感觉开飞机不如SAIL PLANE, 滑翔机不如滑翔伞
，滑翔伞不如滑翔器。试试看呀！ |

租 row boat 与 canoe，很便宜，4 个人没有问题，6 个人可能太多了。一艘船十几块
钱一个钟头的样子，不需要特别的执照，但要带驾照去。只收现金。又，那个地方是忙
碌的水道，常有大船出入，小心点。
Enatai Beach Park --- 夏天的时候这里租 kayak，单人或双人的，也很便宜，要带驾
照去。大部份的人是租了 kayak 以后往 Mercer Slough 里面进去。
Houghton Beach Park -- 在 Kirkland 的 Lake Washington Blvd 上。这里有租
kayak，还有 paddle board（就是冲浪板，人站在上面用一只桨划）。好像是最近几年
才开始营业的。
Sail Sand Point --- 这是一家公司（俱乐部？）的名字，在西雅图华盛顿湖的 Sand

可以先从beam reach开始启动（也就是perpendicular wind），不断trim sail，但是
保持航向。apparent wind will shift forward。这时apparent wind会继续shift，
sail要继续trim，直到balance。假设船的hull speed, sail, friction允许航向和
apparent wind夹角a小于45度，boat speed/true wind speed=arc cotan(a)>1 |

这Sailing我可是头一回，昨天真是天公作美，小风轻抚，不下雨也没大太阳，结果在
船上有吃有喝一路有美景欣赏，还有船长给讲解操作知识，实在是太爽。不然但凡有一
样不顺，比如刮起股大风来几个大浪什么的，船上众人就要疯狂保命来不得这么潇洒了
。所以这里先谢谢老天爷。
再说这Sailing实在是太美好太有学问的一项运动，不亲身体验实在无法理解其中的乐
趣。就说这荡漾在广阔的水面，驰骋在山水间的逍遥，洞察大自然风向水情，和天地和
谐共存的智慧，更不要说面对随时改变无法预测的挑战，实在是其他运动很难比拟的。
这里得崇拜一下船长，牛，大牛。不借助任何机动力，用的是几百年前先人扬帆出海的
技术，完全靠对船的知识，风向水情的把握来操纵帆船进退自如，实在是了不起。我这
样的菜鸟，对sailing一无所知，对船长的指令晕头转向，但是几把下来，看到旁边驶
过的摩托艇游艇，都可以不屑一顾：那些实在是太没挑战太土了。（当然，关于本人操
作不熟差点把船沉了的细枝末节，这里掠过不表)
最后表决心，以后一定跟着船长好好学，做各种美味孝敬船长，苦练驾驶技术，争取有
一天也能潇洒于天水之间。 |

荷马史诗的语言为东希腊方言，位于小亚细亚西部。诗人及其听众是属于今天的土耳其
地区的，也包括西面沿海的岛屿。有传说认为他是Smyrna（今天土耳其Izmir）人，也

SEOUL (AFP) – North Korea has announced a ban on shipping off part of its
west coast and South Korea is watching for any signs of missile tests, the
defence ministry in Seoul said Friday.
