中山，妹妹宋美龄的丈夫蒋中正关系都很密切。

早年于上海圣约翰大学求学，后到美国留学，1915年于哈佛大学经济学硕士毕业，之后
于哥伦比亚大学博士毕业，曾于纽约花旗银行见习。曾任国民政府行政院院长、财政部
长、外长。宋子文长时期主理的金融财务，有人认为他是代表国民党贪污腐败的表征之
一。宋子文自负傲慢，与孔祥熙相处不来，一般人都认为宋的财经观念优于孔，孔只是
山西票号出身，对于现代财经没太大经纬，但孔的处世态度则较为圆滑，为蒋中正所喜
。1944年孔祥熙取代宋子文成为中国银行董事长。
《亚洲华尔街日报》认为一九四三年时他的资产估计为七千万美元，投资美国通用汽车
和杜邦公司，宣称二十 |

aborad. He is accused of moving money. (By the way, did he blast Mr. James
Soong for that? At all? Mr. Soong and former Pres. Lee Teng-hui did not see

猶記得某日閒来無事逛書店時，想買的書籍沒有找到，但卻無意在書店的一角發現了以
許多《時代雜誌》封面做為圖案的明信片。仔細檢閱後，引起筆者注意的是，這本由美
國人亨利鲁斯所發行，自西元1923年3月發行第一期，出版歷史迄今已近百年的西方雜
誌，上面竟然會有以東方领袖夫婦蔣介石與蔣宋美齡做為主角的封面，這個發現使筆者
驚訝不已，但驚訝的同時更感到好奇：是怎麼樣的一個封面故事使得這二位對中國近代
歷史有極大影響的人物受到亨利鲁斯的「青睞」，進而以他們做為封面人物？
因著這個好奇，筆者蒐集了多張以蔣介石及蔣宋美齡做為封面的時代雜誌明信片，發現
《時代雜誌》創辦人——亨利鲁斯先生，就曾多次以蔣介石及蔣宋美齡夫婦為封面，顯
示出他對中國及這對领導人夫婦的高度興趣，所以筆者便一一找出他們背後的封面故事
，比對當代的時事及國際政治背景，進行觀點研究，及小论文的撰寫。

我身为张爱玲文学遗產的执行人，一直都有在大学、书店等不同场所举办关於张爱玲的讲座。每次总有人问我那部未刊小说《小团圆》的状况，甚至连访问我的记者也没有例外。要回应这些提问，我总会徵引张爱玲在一九九二年三月十二日给我父母写的信——随信还附上了遗嘱正本——其中她曾说：
还有钱剩下的话，我想用在我的作品上，例如请高手译。没出版的出版，如关於林彪的一篇英文的，虽然早已明日黄花。 (《小团圆》小说要销毁。)这些我没细想，过天再说了。
这里要指出一份遗嘱是法律文件，但一封普通信件不是，为何还要“细想”与“再说”?据我所知，这讨论从未出现过。一九九五年九月，张爱玲去世，而她所有财產都留给我父母。我父亲宋淇(Stephen Soong)当时身体欠佳，一九九六年十二月亦去世了。我母亲宋酈文美(Mae Fong Soong)则迟迟没决定《小团圆》的去向，患得患失，只把手稿搁在一旁。到了二OO七年十一月，我母亲逝世，而《小团圆》的事就要由我决定了。

纵观对日领土收复方案的演变，拟收复领土依被侵占时间之先后可分为三种类型：一是
1931年“九一八”后沦陷的东北；二是1894年甲午战争后割让的台湾；三是1879年被日
本吞并的曾是中国藩属国的琉球。前两类已有很多研究，本文着重考察琉球问题。
战后是否应提出收复琉球的问题，在历次有关的设想中并不一致，有时提出，有时

1942年11月8日的日记中，蒋提出了琉球“归还中国”的问题。但在1943年1月的日记中

是历史上第二个女性有机会在美国国会演讲，也是第一个中国人这样做。这个讲演有重
