他每天想的画的都是space shuttle，大概持续了2个月了，培养他的这个爱好是他父亲
每天睡觉前给他讲space shuttle，而且孩子每天从电脑上看space shuttle（看电脑现
在只有周末同意看了），其他的没有爱好了。我记得很小的时候他非常喜欢看火车，也
持续了很长时间。
今天老师问我：为什么你的孩子那么喜欢space shuttle? 其他的都不敢兴趣，再说语
言不通，我想他在课堂上大概每天也在想space shuttle，这样下去，其他方面的知识
根本培养不起，当然也包括语言。我打算让他爸爸停止讲space shuttle.

屋主封了crawl space入口（就是用防火胶带把入口的门封了，然后重新粉刷了一趟，
还是去掉涂料胶带可以打开的），不知道这算不算依然让crawl space accessible.
当然买房之前不会让我们打开做inspection的
主要大力城的fire code的确说了insulated，所以来请教大家

发帖数: 2795 | 15 我不清楚Craw Space的一般构造。我是根据自己家房子的Craw Space构造得出的个体结
论。
我家Craw Space有两个排水口，其中之一附近安装了Sump Pump，另外一个排水口是自
然排出的。
下大雨的时候，Craw Space的低洼处明显有积水，且积水很高。且可以看到积水慢慢通
过排水口排出，也能听到Sump Pump有节奏地在工作。
在拿到Inspection Report的时候，我问了Inspector要不要安装第二个Sump Pump，也
问了Constractor这个问题，但答案都是不需要。
楼主的问题：首先要检查Craw Space有没有排水口连通下水道？如果有这样的排水口，
且已经安装了一个Sump Pump，Craw Space至少具备一定的排水能力。当然，这个问题
，还是应该听取Inspector和Constractor的。
我在Corvallis，Oregon待过。那里下雨确实很多。但Craw Space的积水担忧，主要还
是看是否能抵抗频繁的大暴雨的排水。 |

发帖数: 2848 | 16 说到sump pump就说到了解决办法~ 现在的解决办法，就是在crawl space里面，顺着
foundation/footing 挖沟槽，埋下perforated pipes，砂石，把侵入的水引到crawl
space最低的地方（在crawl space里面，我也见过一次在foundation 外面房子一角的~
），一个四五十加仑的container，里面一个pump, 有个浮标，当container的水升起来
，浮标上浮，启动马达，把里面的水抽出来，噪音么，其实很小，抽水的时候就想
flush toilet的声音，还好更小一些。
有的，因为地势，不需要sump pump, crawl space里面的drainage导到最低得一角，就
用gravity带出来，drain 掉了我也遇到过；再遇到过的，做的简单，在crawl space里
面footing 那一圈就是open的小沟沟，这个比较奇特。
Cost呢，我曾经估价过一个两千七百多尺的较新的两层房，$3500左右，是那个Wu姓的
中国contractor，他在业界做这个挺有名气的。另外一个应该会贵一些，在Lynnwood，

Linux, 4GB virtual addr space分成俩块，3GB user virtual addr space，和1GB
kernel virtual addr space。
1GB(严格的说好像是896MB)的kernel virtual addr space跟physical mem是one-to-
one map，above 1GB 用page table转换。在kernel mode可以用3GB user virtual
addr space，在user mode不能用1GB kernel virtual addr space (for protection)。 |

往living room和kitchen之类地方的。我发现我的crawl space有一个小窗口连通外面
，尺寸大概6×12英寸，sump pump的管道就从那里通出去（sump pump也在crawl space
里面），这个窗口有一个小纱窗。请问这个窗口是不是同时还有透气的作用，不让sump
pump井里的湿气聚集在crawl space里面，因为crawl space顶上都是living room的裸
露木地板？
但是这么冷的天里面crawl space很冷，白白浪费很多暖气，请问可不可以把这个窗口
堵上，然后天暖和了再扒开？请问大家见过这种窗口吗？冬天堵上不会对木结构不好吧？

虽然Northwest气候潮湿，但是传统上木材丰富，都是建的木结构房子。木结构的房子
实际上是架空在foundation和中间crawl space里面的水泥墩上面的，任何木头应该是
不能直接接触土壤的。有极少数的房子，不是架空的，我有时候走进去就觉得不对，蹦
跶两下，说，这个房子木有crawl space，非常少见，但是南方不潮湿的地方挺多的。
木结构的房子怕火，怕水，或者说moisture. 偏偏我们这里雨水多，土壤会饱含了水分
，往下渗透慢得时候就会横向，侵入crawl space，解决方式，就是perimeter drain,
或者叫footing drain. Foundation 下面更宽一点的水泥层叫footing，围着那一圈儿
，也就是房子外围一圈，埋下 perforated pipes,就是上面有洞的差不多四五寸直径的

大部分都是用plastic vapor barrier，但是如你所说，还真是有把crawl space地面浇
筑成厚厚的水泥的，我在Lakemont见过这样的crawl space，这个crawl space比一般的
稍微高一点，人可以弯腰走，and it's heated, heated这一点挺重要的，因为水泥也
保不齐水汽往上走啊，虽然concrete slab下面也应该有一层防水的memberane， 我个
人喜欢crawl space有vent通风，用plastic vapor barrier，如果不是heated crawl
space, concrete slab下面的防水层也会老化掉得吧~
说起concrete slab下面的防水层，Redmond有个小区，比较新的，有一面后面是斜坡往
下的房子全部是2-sotry with basement，结果，建房子的时候basement的地面

已证(别人证得）问题B是C的spacial case，或者说C是B的推广，
现在我要做得是，show A is a spacial case of C，
A问题都是在概率空间上说事儿，
C问题都是在Banach space上说，
B问题在convex Hausdorff vector space上，
我看别人证得那个，有一步，直接let 一个separable Banach space = 一个一维概率
空间了，
所以才有了我一开始的问题：

4Runner）官方纸面上的数据跟竞争对手差不多，大型SUV（Sequoia）官方纸面上的数
据比同级竞争对手还要好。而另一方面，有一些描述/评测里中型SUV丰田车属于偏小的
，而另外一些描述/评测则直接引用丰田官方的数据认为和竞争对手类似。
虽然经过了一番搜索，我现在仍然无法确定丰田cargo space的官方测量标准。现在能
确定的是，他家肯定特意选择了数字上较为有利、而其他竞争对手并不使用的测量标准。
拿2个本人亲自看过的车型来说，4Runner两排版 VS Pilot，4Runner车厢部分的长宽都
低于Pilot，车厢内部高度类似，目测第二排之后的cargo space也要明显小于Pilot。
我看车的时候带了米尺，实际测量的结果如下（有1吋的误差，没仔细量），也可以确
定4Runner的第二排后cargo space要小于Pilot。

32-bit machine，virtual address space 4GB，kernel(e.g. linux)会把这4GB，分成
3GB user/1GB kernel。
1GB kernel virtual address space跟物理内存是1-to-1的map。对user virtual addr
做virtual --> physical 转换是也是转到一个kernel virtual addr再到physical
memory。
那这样不是只能用到1GB physical memory，如果有更多
的就用不到了。windows也有这个机制，好奇这样的话不是加内存都没用？大牛给解释

昨天又看上另一个房子，１９９９年建的，seller 说 craw space 漏水，上星期刚刚
找 contractor 在 craw space 里挖了 trench，安装了 sump pump 和 vapor barrier
，而且在漏水一侧的院子里加了 drainage，把 gutter 流下的水引到外面，一共花了
４０００多。 seller 出示了 contractor 的 invoice。 另外 sellor 说 contractor
认为 craw space 里目前为止没有 mold 的问题。 sellor 是房子的 first owner。
不知道这样处理了是不是就彻底解决了这个漏水问题了呢？ 如果漏水，是不是已经漏
了１３年了？ 怎么会没有 mold 的问题呢？ 是应该放弃这个房子，还是要求降些价，
该降多少呢？

furnace heater。其他的living room dining room等的下面，就是半个人高的crawl
space了。在crawl space里和上面的floor间有insulation。我往里面看了一下，只放
了两个小的oil tank,因为标准的oil tank太高，放不进去。
上网看了一下，在我们东北地区，基本上都是basement，这种crawl space很少。然后
很多文章都提到crawl space会有潮湿不通气的问题，容易长mold。
这个房子别的我都挺满意的，就是这个crawl space不明白，是不是个大隐患啊？能买

换。这几天约了几个contractors 看看crawl space 的问题。我也亲自下到crawl
space，的确比较潮，concrete四周墙上有横着的一条水印样的，有些墙角有浸润样子
的。vapor barrier有些地方没有水，有些地方积水，但绝对不多，没形成水洼。
其中一个contractor着重强调漏水。直接估了个$2000装sump pump和在crawl space里
安装 drainage trench around perimeter with drain pipe。说要是不装，赶上下大
雨地下水位升高，再加上有些渗漏，crawl space就泡了。再加上insulation, 换vapor
barrier, clean up, total bill $5000+。
可是另一个contractor认为这种程度的漏水在我们这儿(seattle area, 一年有大半年

，特别是两年前物主刚买房的时候，inspection报告crawl space里面有白蚁痕迹和dry
rot，现任屋主号称清理之后就把crawl space的小门封了，说是local的fire code，
要求车库要insulated。但是我看了local的fire code，我的理解是只要求所有的wall
要insulated，是不是就一定要把crawl space的门也一起封起来？感觉有些可疑，求版
上大牛解惑！
另外就是如果发现crawl space的foundation的支撑木头有比较严重的腐蚀，如果要
pest control处理fungus，大概什么价格？如果更坏的情况，可能雇contractor更换么
木头
？大概是什么价格？
俺在湾区，又不是硅工 比较水深火热，哎

32-bit machine，virtual address space 4GB，kernel(e.g. linux)会把这4GB，分成
3GB user/1GB kernel。
1GB kernel virtual address space跟物理内存是1-to-1的map。对user virtual addr
做virtual --> physical 转换是也是转到一个kernel virtual addr再到physical
memory。
那这样不是只能用到1GB physical memory，如果有更多
的就用不到了。windows也有这个机制，好奇这样的话不是加内存都没用？大牛给解释

Malloc 一般可以从两个地方得到 address space. 一个就是 heap.
address space 是通过 brk 系统调用来调整 heap 的最高可用的
地址。但是 brk 可以扩展的有限，至少在 x86 是这样。
另外一个地方就是通过 mmap. mmap anonymous page 就是可以
获得新的可以用的 memory.
但是这个和系统的 memory 又是另一回事。对 kernel 来说，
kernel 看到的是 raw pages. 这些 page 可以根据需要 bind
在某一个 virtual memory address space 里面。这个 binding
不是固定的。 kernel 可以把 某个 process 的 page unmap
出来用干其他的事情，等那个 process 用到那个 page 才产生
page fault, kernel 知道去什么地方把那个 page 内容从新搞
出来。一般是在某个文件，如果是 file backing, 或者是 swap
file 如果没有 file backing.
