当时的defense人才辈出，铸造了不少NFL的神话，其辉煌不是仅一场比赛，一个赛
季，而是持续了一个世纪。最有名的当数四大player: Mel Blount (CB), Mean Joe
Greene (DT), Jack Lamber (LB)和Jack Ham (LB)。
Steel Curtain的杰出还表现在它送入Pro Bowl的人数之多，持续时间之长在NFL绝
无仅有。尤其1974年steelers的四个LB有三个进Pro Bowl，而1975年Pro Bowl的starting

Whisenhunt, one of the top two candidates to replace Bill Cowher as head
coach with the Steelers, never received an offer from Pittsburgh. That could

很少NFL owners能象Art Ronney这样被球队的球迷爱戴和拥护的。他始终将这支NFL中

，1995年，那一年steelers三涮browns。两队总战绩browns领先54-47。
browns先是赢了头18场中的16场，然后从1964-70年间又赢了14场中的11场。接着是
steelers以其“steel Curtain”在1971-83年间占据优势，赢了24场中的19场，其
间，steelers四次夺得SB。1986年起，browns又开始占上风，连赢7场至1989年。之

几千银子成立了Pittsburgh Pirates。属于有10支队伍的NFL的east division。当
时的队伍尚存 5 支：Pittsburgh Steelers, Chicago (Arizona) Cardinals, Green
Bay Packers, Chicago Bears and New York Giants。(所以新同学们以后提起这些
老牌队伍要尊敬一点才队，arizona可除外)。
当时的steelers可是一衰队，就象如今的bungles。前七赛季才赢22场。那时的 pro

后来看见我逗旁边同事的2岁小孩玩，那个老黑说我应该把towel
给小孩做diaper。。。后来steelers touchdown的时候，我故意冲他

4th quarter的时候，我喊defense，我边上的老黑就喊offense，
他喊defense，我就扯嗓子喊offense，后来我们俩都觉得很搞笑，
就聊了一会，他说觉得lions这场比成这样就算赢了，因为不是big loss。

staley同学复出，显然还没适应赛季后半段刺刀见红的节奏。所幸还有4场调整的机会。
上次steelers发飙的时候，bus也是同样情况，为了保住他不再受伤，直到最后一场才上
阵，结果显然没时间适应。季后赛打pats一战，running基本哑了。
2。 running无效，直接导致steelers两个后果。一是失去控球优势，steelers这次控球
时间竟然远远少于对手。二是defense上场时间太多，后半段明显体力透支很多。结瓜几
次长传得手，几乎就让我看到当年输给笨女孩的场景。
3。进攻冲传不平衡，大奔压力增大。不过很欣慰大奔能够顶住压力，尤其最后一个drive

s输送过去的。
现在bills的tom danoheo总统原来是steelers的GM，就是他招进cowher做主教练的。两人
都是匹兹堡人，头六年合作愉快，钢人连续6年进季后赛。后来连着两年失败，尤其是那
年跟笨女孩一战，钢人主场输掉。两人矛盾浮出水面。媒体之前已经不断追问两人，

港人上赛季原班人马会超工资帽20+M，确定或者已经release 队长 Ward, DE Smith,
OG Kemoeatu, CB McFadden, WR Battle。估计防守队长James Farrior也会走人。球队
还restructure了Taylor, Timmons, Woodley, Ben，Colon (这个废物两年打了一场球
居然还留）的工资（就是把工资当签约费直接兑现了）。个人猜测NT Hampton 和James
Harrison也有被裁的危险。前者工资高加有伤，后者大嘴巴。
现在的情况是球队已经宣布3/13号前队里的FA一律不签，华莱士一定会是用第一轮

steelers是抓了一个高位qb就王朝好多年那种。
95年高位抓了stewart, 如果那厮不是自己烂掉
，也不会让tommy madsucks跑出来过渡两年，然后04年高位选了大本然后王朝到今天。
13年的草稿第四轮110位选了个backup qb, 这已经是steelers 20年来，除了stewart和
big ben所抓的最高位的qb了。我感觉是在杀鸡给猴看了。前几年大本和侯三通分别出
状况，也只是裁了小侯，那是因为大本has a lot of gas in the tank。但是目前的形

against the New Orleans Saints has been changed from 1 p.m. to 4:15 p.m.
It's part of the NFL's flexible scheduling during seven weeks of the season
to accomodate television.
NBC chose to move the Chicago Bears-New York Giants game at the Meadowlands
to an evening start.
That game had been scheduled as Fox's primary game that day.
Because of the change, the Steelers will play three consecutive home games
at 4:15.

The Steelers have informed Mike Tomlin, the Minnesota Vikings defensive
coordinator, that he will be their next head coach. The team plans a news
conference to announce his hiring.
The sides were negotiating a contract tonight for four years and an option
year.
The Steelers made their decision today between Russ Grimm, their assistant
head coach and offensive line coach, and Tomlin. |

linebackers Derek Rehage and Richard Koonce to contracts.
The Steelers also announced that Walker, Rehage, Koonce and defensive back
Grant Mason, whom the team signed on Jan. 12, were allocated to NFL Europa.
Barr (6-2, 230) signed with Pittsburgh on Feb. 17, 2006, but was waived
following the team's training camp. He also attended Pittsburgh's training
camp in 2004 and 2005, but was waived in the final roster cuts.

Javon Walker的机会。好处是小曼和小汤suck我也都眼不见心不烦了。 祝贺
刚人获胜什么的就不多说了。几点想法。
1)Ravens的rookie四分位选对了。在Steelers狂blitz, Ravens进攻线招架不住的
情况下，表现了很强的运动战能力， 而且确实是cannon arm. 几个deep pass,
球速快也比较准。 可以说Steelers防守的致命点被他抓住了，以Ravens现在的进攻
实力，可能赢不了。 但是到了最后一周，我们在Baltimore等着你们钢人。
2)赛前我就说成败关键在Ravens的D-line能不能给Maddox足够的pass rush压力，
结果显然做的不好，现在的D-line和三年前superbowl的队伍比，size明显不足。
中间没有Goose和sam adams两个肉跎压着。 线上处於劣势后，3-4防守里的LB的
blitz很容易被人家pick up. 1st round pass rush rookie Suggs还是太嫩， 好像
