先简单介绍一下今天发生的事情：
在过去的7天里，根据天气预报的变化，加上过去的经验，判断这个周末（周六和周日
）是登山的好天气，NOAA给出的天气是周六白天20%的降雪概率， 7千尺左右的风速是
22mph gust to 28mph, 夜间是晴天（图1）。Mountain forecast给出的天气是周六白
天 some cloud, 夜间晴天，1万1千尺左右的风速是10-15mph, summit上温度是single
digit, wind chill 低于-10F （图2）。 NWAC给出的雪崩风险是 moderate-
considerable. 这样的天气在pacific northwest的冬季，算是一个很不错的天气窗。

the only modeling adequacy tests only focus on the which distribution fits

时每个subject都有相应的gene expression data（大概30000的gene features），我
先用这些fit了一个cox model（就是最常规的model<-coxph(Surv(survival$t.os,
survival$e.os)～expression。。。）
现在需要做的是要用这个model去predict其他给定gene expression和time point的new
subject的survival rate（比如10年的存活率）。
我用的是survfit(model,newdata=data.frame(new_expression),individual=TRUE),
期望出来的是几条对应于这几个individual的曲线，可是却报错说start和stop缺失。
想请问问有经验的前辈们，是不是需要把时间加在predict里面，如何能加（survfit的
help里没找到）。

如果我想设计一个实验，比较两组的survival rate,不给药的那一组（A)假设预计
survival rate是0.4，给药的那一组（B)希望达到survival rate 0.6,而且A和B是
paired sample,即每一个在B组吃药的病人，在A组都是有个相同性别，相近体重，相近
血压的不吃药的病人。那我需要如何计算sample size，以达到power=0.8呢？求高人指
点，非常感谢!
补充：
假设每组的病人不是一一对应的，那么假设我有一个希
望达到的hazard ratio (HR),那么如果有alpha=0.05， power=0.8, 和预期的log(HR),
通过公式可以计算出来需要的sample size.
我想知道的是，如果每组病人之间有个一一对应的关系，那么该如何修改计算sample
size的公式，我看到一个说法是原sample size乘以（1-rho),但是这样sample size比
之前传统方法的更小，我觉得好像不合理，因为相对于传统方法，这种paired design

Survival Analysis 里计算了。
3次实验都是从开始（时间为0）到最后（10-15小时），每隔1小时计数对照或样品的存
活。
因为3次重复，总体的Survival Time多少有些不同，所以我的合作者质疑，我是否应该
把3次的数据放在一个Survival Analysis 里计算 ?
我应该Pool这3次的数据在一起么？ 为什么？ 谢

用一般的classification方法可以用来预测event occurrence within a certain
width of period

说一下基本情况。公司不大，两个site加起来不到600人算是小公司吧，没有sign on
bonus。我入职将近一年，主要为四个team工作，feedback主要是其中两个team的
manager A和B（印度人）给的，而找我谈话的是manager C（白人），C的等级比A和B高
一些，平时也比A和B好相处些。
PIP上列举了三点他们认为我performance不足的地方。有些地方我承认，但有些我觉得
有些莫名，至少我自己想不起来我犯过（也有可能是我记性不好）。总之最后写着给30
天的期限要求看到进步，不然就terminate。楼主平时任务按时完成，虽然速度没有很
快但也从不拖欠，PIP上列举出来的点都是一些minor的事情（比如communication有时

己，今天还出去跑long run吗？看看天气，将近80度，并且只会越来越热。管它的，先
起来刷牙再说。
当我离开床之后，整个的身体的感觉又回复到那种稍微紧张的状态，就像这一周多以来
的状态。等早上的各种琐事结束之后，竟然快到9:30了，赶紧打开GPS，抓了一个gel出
了门。
在一个long run开始之前，总是有些许的担心，尤其是在身体疲惫的时候。于我而言，
我要小心地设计long run的线路，保证在每3-4迈左右能找到一个厕所防止我敏感的肠
胃突然出现状况。不过等到真正出门开跑，情绪很快由那种半团乱麻状专注到跑步本身
，很快就开始享受。和我做一个新东西一样，在开始之前总是思前想后，有时候不知道
从哪里入手。有时候思虑过多还不如立刻动手从一个简单的基本的做起，出来了结果就
会越来越有思路，越来越专注。这一个多星期就是如此。
