试过 Turbo TAX, 从来没有用过 E-Filing,
我觉得用这种电子版,带引导式提问的方式,要比填纸上的表格方便得多。政府官方早
该有自己专门的类似 Turbo TAX 这样的软件或者干脆网站给大家。
有谁说说 E-Filing 和 Turbo TAX 哪一个更好, 什么区别 ? |

Payroll tax goes into dedicated accounts. You payroll tax, medicare and SS
because you will take money out of it in the future. The money you put in is
used on you, theoretically. So it is more like a tax-deferred saving
account, (ill-)managed by the federal government. Majority of the payroll
tax is eventually spent on the tax contributor themselves.

刚填了份税表,收入100000,married,没有任何捐款,standard deduction,最后

However, $250K in 1993 equal to almost $450K today.
So, if we really want to go back to Clinton era tax bracket, at least we

09年在加拿大工作过一段时间,10年我人在美国的时候收到在加拿大09年工作的
pension distribution,报了美国的tax。可是这部分钱已经在加拿大那边tax
withhold了收入税,至今还没来得及报加拿大10年得税。我应该如何做才能避免这部分
钱被double taxed?这部分的收入到底应该交给美国政府还是加拿大?谢谢大家了! |

没事别搞这个,很烦的,你一旦有这个,以后的所有distribution

is the better choice. This is because both Roth/Traditional have
the same contribution limit.
Consider this senario. Say, your bracket rate is 25%. When you are
reporting tax return, you face two choices.
1. Contribute 10K to Traditional IRA and you get 2.5K tax refund
2. Contribute 10K to Roth IRA and you don't get any refund
Now let's compare return. Assume you get 5% growth for 30 years.
With Roth IRA you get
10K * 1.05^30 = 43.2K

是20008-2009的么?还是2009-2010的?去年买房,想用itemized deduction,不清楚
用哪一年的school tax.

在closing的时候交的city tax正好到今年7月,那么escrow 8月份交的应该是city tax
8/2011-12/2011,而12月份应该交01/2012-07/2012的city tax和2012年的county tax
。 保险是2012年的。 |

built property (condo, SFH, etc) is dertermined by the sales price * a tax
ratio.
The old property is taxed based on old, old price, which is used as tax
asessment base. The town may not reassess the amount for years, so the tax
is very low comparing to the recent built property. |
