发帖数: 130 | 1 准备近期买新车，但觉得把旧车 trade-in 可能拿不到好的价格，所以想先自己把旧车
卖掉后再买新车。看了New York DMV的网站关于转移 registraion 和 license plate
的步骤（原文如下）。我的问题是：
1. DMV的信息中没有提到卖掉旧车后，licence plate 可以在自己手里放多久。有时间
限制吗？还是在 registration 结束之前转移到新车就可以？
2. 在买新车时，如果我拿着旧车的 registraion 和 license plate， 是不是就不用
付TTL 里的最后两项， title 和 license，因为我自己会到DMV 去转移注册？
3. 是不是交了 Sales Tax+document fee后直接把 license plate 放到新车上就能开
走了？

How do I transfer a registration to another vehicle I own?
After you sell or give away a vehicle, you can transfer the registration and
vehicle plates to another vehicle you own. You must bring these items to a
DMV office
1) a completed Application for Registration / Title (MV-82)
2) proof ownership
3) proof of New York State automobile liability insurance 1
4) proof of identity
5) payment for fees
If you don’t want to transfer the registration, you must surrender the
vehicle plates to the DMV. You may be eligible to receive a refund if you
surrender the plates before the registration expires.
