因为你要考虑到两个问题：
１。物价上升指数
２。现有的grant的继续funding。
把这两个因素一扣除的话，假如是倒回两年前的总钱数的话，新申请的grant的
难度会变得很高。

to normal. As to CPI, I think the white house stated a while ago it
remains in check due to deflation pressure( Yeah, we are still in recession.
)

（应该是排除了那个stimulus plan 之后算出来的）

来了。这件事情共和党也只是刚赢了选举之后提出一个想法，在他们共和党内部本来就
有争议，最后提出的法案是什么样，能不能通过都是一个问题。而且这个法案的主要倡
议者 Eric Cantor 自己所在的选区也有很多选民是生物民工，他也得想想自己 2012
能不能接着干啊。马上新年了，大家还是安心过节吧。 |

Here are some info from my boss:
it is very likely that NIH and NCI will not have a budget, so it will be
continuous solution through the whole fiscal year. If that happens, it
could be 5% cut.
As for NCI, Harold Vamus put the highest priority for grant, he wants to try
best to keep the grant money. Some current grant are from stimulus money,
so in order to keep grant money, intramural money should be cut. Now the
priority is: (extramural) grant > program > intramural.
In our lab, my boss has started to work out a 5% cut solution if this
happens.

As you see from these email, NCRR, the NIH institute that funds XXXX may
get dismantled by NIH. It can’t be good for us but as you see in my email
. However, we have no choice but to continue…. It has always been an
uphill
battle but it is now more so….If there is any chance that for XXXX lab,
this major symbol in XX to survive, we have to do very very very
very very good in the site visit.
