industry would be very different from what you did at school.
so that means for Postdoc positions Industrial Postdoc > national lab
Postdoc > school postdoc, if only considering paid.
while if for career building, I think national lab > school > industry,
because of freedom and atmosphere.

want to become a prof., then go to school postdoc, you can get more decent
pubs
if you want to join company in the future, go to industrial postdoc, you
have internal opportunity to become formal employee, if not, you at least
gained industrial experience on your resume
for national lab, they paid less than industry, and hard to publish good
paper because of the projects, that is why they are willing to pay a lot
more than school but still can not attract talented phd.
Don't tell me you have chance to become formal empolyee in NL, a lot of NL
are laying off formal employees

if you want to build your career in national lab, the easiest way is to find
a national lab postdoc
if you want to build your career in industry, and you still want to do
postdoc for whatever reason, go find an industry postdoc
simple logic

I don't think I said anything about diploma. while I was talking about the
pHD training. A trained PHD should be much more pragmatic than a BS w/out
bench working trained, especially for a chemist and chem tech position.
well, if you want to talk about the POSTdoc level work, I don't think a BS
fresh graduate could handle with less than three month hands on hands
trained. However, I do believe this hands on hands training must also
initialized by a PHD.

药厂的很多药，就是很多低层次技术人员瞎搞出来的。。我一个哥们，在AZ，原来学高
分子和无机的，后来混进了药厂。。。有2个分子进了clinical trial。。。一堆一堆
的博士，屁也没有。。
化工厂的工程部，BS的人当technical lead的不要太多。。。
博士的所谓training，在业界绝大部分时候，真的是狗屎。。。

对于和学术界不脱节的工作，那真是恭喜韦爵爷，贺喜韦爵爷。。
但是很多工作，和学校学的东西，脱节很大。。化工厂一般的工厂寿命是30年以上，你
说发配你去哪里，你拿着你学的新科技，没用啊。。还得拿出20年前的文档，撅着屁股
找毛病。。。
