ifan for the first time. For the media and the organizers, of course, it was
a big deal. I think I made the wrong tactics in that game. It happens. She
is a good player as she proved it not only against me but against other over
2700 players as well in the tournament and in some other previous events, i
n 2011. I always hoped that sooner or later some other women would come alon
g with me and compete at the top men’s level. Although Hou , at the moment,
is only a 2600 player, on this tournament she did an excellent job. Raised
the bar for herself. She is also very young so it will be really interesting
to see her progress in the next 2 years. And even more interesting to see
if she can keep up this excellent form on a regular basis, and if she can ex
ceed 2700 or not. That’s all about this case.
Anyway, as always, I tried to play exciting chess in Gibraltar, but this tim
e my games were far from without mistakes. I have to analyze my mistakes whi

if shen beat Polar consecutively or win a match exculsively between Hou and
Polgar, even Hou's ranking is lower than Polgar.
Polgar can claim she is No.1
ranked woman. It only means she is better than Hou when facing strong male
player.
