The purpose of this conference is to present independent and highly relevant
research on Chinese college graduates’ employment and overseas talent,
subjects that are not only academically interesting but also personally
compelling, as they directly touch upon the lives of the many Chinese
students and professionals in the United States. The conference co-
organizers are MyCOS Data, China’s premier higher education management &
data consulting firm, the Center on China and Globalization (CCG), a leading
independent think tank, and the Future China Initiative at Teachers College
, Columbia University. Dr. Boqing Wang, President of MyCOS, will discuss the
state of college graduates’ employment in China and what it means for the
future of higher education; and Dr. Huiyao Wang, Director General of CCG,
will share findings on overseas talent and returnees in China. The
conference will also feature a panel discussion on how MyCOS and CCG’s
research can be helpful and applicable to conference attendees.
The conference will be conducted entirely in Chinese.
此次论坛将围绕中国高校毕业生就业和人才的调查和相关调研为主题展开讨论。研究的
课题对于学术，对于个人而言都十分引人注目，与当今在美国的许多中国学生和专业人
才都息息相关。论坛由中国第一个服务于全国高校管理和数据咨询公司，麦可思数据有
限公司；和民间智库，中国与全球化研究中心，联手与哥伦比亚大学教育学院的未来中
国社共同举办。麦可思创始人，王伯庆博士， 将就中国高校毕业生就业情况调查，针
对未来中国高等教育进行演讲讨论。全球化研究中心主任，王辉耀博士，将分享海外人
才以及归国后的调研发现。论坛还安排了座谈讨论，将具体根据麦可思和全球化研究中
心的研究，讨论这些数据结果如何能够应用到现实生活中的改变，如何对人们有帮助。

Center for China & Globalization | 中国与全球化研究中心
The Center for China & Globalization was founded by overseas returned
Chinese scholars and the Policy Advisory Committee of China Western Returned
Scholars Association (WRSA). It was established in strategic partnership
with the School of Public Policy and Management of Tsinghua University, the
Overseas Experts Advisory Committee of China State Council Overseas Chinese
Affairs Office, China Talent Research Society, Center on China’s
Transnational Relations of Hong Kong University of Science and Technology,
Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada, School of Contemporary Chinese Studies at
the University of Nottingham of United Kingdom and East Asia Institute of
National University of Singapore. CCG is a non-profit and independent think
tank. It is a pool of first-class scholars, business leaders and public
policy experts from both China and abroad, addressing issues of challenges
and opportunities on how China is developing in the process of globalization

Future China Initiative | 未来中国社
Future China Initiative at Teachers College, Columbia University, is a
student group whose mission is seeking enlightenment of Chinese people, and
to call for a rational formation of societal rules. Originally established
by TC students supposedly in 1913, the group now has Columbia students from
different colleges and schools as members. In 2011, the mission of the club
was broadened to pinpoint the idea of education: that is, to care about the
development of every individual, and to seek paths for members to improve

Dr Boqing Wang, Founder & President, MyCOS Data
王伯庆博士，创始人，麦可思数据
Dr. Boqing Wang is the Founder and President of MyCOS Data. He is also the
chief architect of the company’s flagship China Higher Education Follow-up
System (CHEFS), as well as editor-in-chief of the Chinese College Graduates
’ Employment Annual Report published through the Chinese Social Sciences
Academic Press (China). He is on the permanent faculty of the Southwestern
University of Finance and Economics and is Vice President of the China
International Talents Committee. Dr. Wang obtained his Ph.D. in Economics at
Washington State University and was for over a decade a consultant and a
research economist for the State of Washington specializing in labor
economics. He founded MyCOS in 2006 and has built it to be the most trusted
premier higher education management and data consulting firm in China.
王伯庆博士，麦可思公司创始人与首席专家，中国高等教育跟踪评估系统（CHEFS）的
开发者，《中国大学生就业报告》（就业蓝皮书）作者，中国国际人才专业委员会副会
长，西财中国教育需求研究中心主任、教授。王伯庆博于华盛顿州立大学获得他的经济
学博士，毕业后留在华盛专注于研究劳动经济学，有着十余年在劳动经济学中咨询和研

Dr. Huiyao Wang, Director General, Center for China and Globalization
王辉耀博士，中心主任，中国与全球化研究中心
Dr. Huiyao Wang is the Director General of Center for China and
Globalization and President of South China Global Talent Institute， a Vice
Chairman of China Overseas Returned Scholars Association,the President of
China Talent Society affiliated with Ministry of Human Resources. He is a
Senior Fellow at Harvard Kennedy School and was a visiting fellow at
Brookings Institution in the USA.
Dr. Wang has served as a Task Force Leader for Global Talents Strategy Study
Group for Central Government of China andhas also served as an expert for
the drafting of China Mid-Long Term National Talent Development Plan 2010-
2020. He has published over 30 books and 100 articles and papers on Chinese
talents, returnees, entrepreneurship and China going global.
王辉耀博士，教授，博士生导师，哈佛大学高级研究员，中国与全球化研究中心主任，
南方国际人才研究院副院长，中国国际人才专业委员会会长，欧美同学会/中国留学人
员联谊会副会长，人社部中国人才研究会副会长，商务部中国国际经济合作学会副会长
，先后兼任北京大学光华管理学院及加拿大西安大略大学等多家大学客座教授。
曾担任中组部国际人才竞争战略研究专家组组长，是《国家中长期人才发展规划纲要
2010-2020》起草组特邀专家，曾在美国哈佛大学商学院进修和在美国布鲁金斯学会担
任访问研究员。
在中国人才政策、国际人才战略、国际管理、创业创新、华人华侨与中国留学人员群体
等领域有广泛的学术研究，发表有关中英文著作30部和有关中英文专业文章近百篇。
Jianzhong Cha, UNESCO Chair Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering,
Beijing Jiaotong University
查建中教授，联合国教科文组织产学合作教席主持人，机械工程系，北京交通大学
Professor Jianzhong Cha received his B.S. from Tsinghua University, M.S.
from Tianjin University and Ph.D. from SUNY-Buffalo in the US. In addition
to his academic career, he worked in industry for more than a decade. A
professor at Beijing Jiaotong University (BJTU), he holds the following
positions at BJTU: Chairholder and Chairman of the Board of Directors;
UNESCO Chair on Cooperation between Higher Engineering Education and
Industries (since 2005); Vice Chairman of University-Industry Liaison
Committee. He also serves as a member of the Governing Board of UNESCO
Institute for IT in Education (since 2009) and is a Member of Board of
Directors of Group T International Engineering College of University Leuven
of Belgium (since 2003). He has published over 400 academic papers and five
books and has led over 70 graduate students at BJTU.
查建中博士，教授，清华大学学士，天津大学硕士，纽约州立大学水牛城分校博士。在
他的学术成就之外，他同时有在业界从事工作十多年的经验。现为北京交通大学机械与
电子控制工程学院博士生导师。学术兼职：国际生产力协会（ISPE）副理事长、中国机

Dr. Po Yang, Assistant Professor, School of Education, Peking University
杨钋教授（哥伦比亚大学2007届博士），副教授，北京大学教育学院
Dr. Po Yang is currently an associate professor in the Department of
Economics of Education and Administration of the Graduate School of
Education at Peking University. She earned her Ph.D. degree from Columbia
University in 2007. Her major research interests include student finance,
student development and employment, peer effect, and vocational education.
Dr. Yang has received research grants from the China National Science
Foundation, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Finance, Ford
Foundation and other national and international organizations. Her articles
have appeared in the International Journal of Education Development,
Frontiers of Education in China, China Education and Society, and various
leading Chinese social science journals.
杨钋博士是北京大学教育学院教育经济与管理学系副教授。2007年她从美国哥伦比亚大
学博士毕业。她主要的研究兴趣包括学生资助、大学生发展和就业、同伴效应和职业教
育。她的研究得到中国自然科学基金、教育部、财政部、福特基金会和其他机构的支持

Yuanyuan Liu, Doctoral Candidate, Georgetown University
乔治城大学在读博士，麦可思研究院实习生
Maggie Liu graduated from The College of William and Mary in 2010, with a
double major in Mathematics and Economics. Maggie began her graduate studies
in Economics at Georgetown University in the fall of 2010. Her
concentration areas are Labor Economics and Econometrics. She is especially
interested in migration and human capital accumulation in developing
economies. Her current research project focuses on college graduates’
domestic migration decision in China.
At the conference, she will be discussing her paper which adopts a revealed
preference approach to rank major Chinese cities’ non-monetary appeal to
college graduates. Using data from 2010 MyCOS nationwide survey on recent
college graduates, wages of college graduates across cities are observed and
used to infer how do college graduates value non-traded local public goods
of Chinese cities. This paper ranks 18 major Chinese cities, and finds
Shenzhen and Beijing are most appealing to college graduates in China.
刘源远于2010年获得她在威廉玛丽学院经济学和数学本科双学位，并于2010年秋季开始
了她在乔治城大学经济学研究生生活。她的主要研究方向为经济学和劳动经济学，尤其
是对人口移动和在经济发展中的人力资本积累。她目前的研究课题集中为中国大学毕业
生毕业后在国内的移动研究。
在此次论坛中，她将讨论她目前正在根据城市显示出的隐形价值对大学毕业生的吸引力
进行排名。通过麦可思2010届全国大学毕业生调查，收集到不同城市大学生毕业半年后
的薪资从而推算出大学毕业生对城市隐形价值的计算方式。这篇论文对中国18个主要城
市进行排名，并发现在中国深圳北京是最受大学生青睐的城市。 |
