893 | 3 oh gosh! I can't believe it. I rode with him a few times before. |
w********6 发帖数: 12977 | 4 i have several dangerous moments when I was riding very fast (25-30mph) near
a crossroad when lights suddenly turned yellow.
I was instantly making a decision to ride through the light, but even a fast
bike is much slower than a car, so when I started to pass the crossroad the
lights turned red.
Every time I passed, I started to regret, since it is really dangerous. |
w********6 发帖数: 12977 | 5 this is partly because recently my brake is not working very effectively so
I was afraid that when I fully stopped I would be in the middle of the
crossroad and I decide to accelerate and pass. |

right to the other road.

Well, that's probably more likely because Art never liked riding fast.
Whoever has the power to lift the pace probably also has the skills to stay
out of trouble. My little piece of advice is: your greatest risk of getting
hurt is from the car, it's from other riders. so ride in the first third
whenever you can! I am sure hengmei would have told you the same.

,
fast is not referring to the behaviors around the turns. it's average speed.
that ride leader is all about staying within the specified speed.
a car may break your neck
I absolutely agree! Assuming every sensible rider has realized the extreme
danger of crashing involving a car, let's talk about quantified risk. So
crashing into a car is really really bad (it pretty much means you are wasted
for at least a year, if not for life or even death), but it's rare. on they

the group stay away from me! :)
1. Can't keep a straight line - Getting better but still have difficulty
when either exhausted or reaching water bottle.
2.bouncy pedaling - often did that. Don't know how to deal with it
especially when my cadence is high and riding resistance is low.
3. always speeding-up or slowing-down - Getting better. But since my bike is
naturally heavier than others in the group, the coasting-to-s

Getting to the front sounds a great idea except that the front riders are

guys to take over.

trick is to pull back before you get tired, so you can get back in the pace
line with ease and still enjoy the ride.
