标 题: non compete agreement正常吗

offer里面有non-competition条款,两年之内不得从事相关行业,感觉整个行业都被它
包括了,里面也没说地点范围。这是怎么回事,正常吗?到时候如果laid off了,这个
要求还在吗?如果跳槽,是不是就得在另外行业找工作了?

previous employer cannot show what you are doing is exactly what you worked
before, they will lose the case. So most cases, employer will not go to the
court because they know they are going to lose almost sure. Also, the judge
usually shows sympathy to employees. So this is why company does not file
lawsuits for non-competition unless you are a CEO who knows all company's
secrets.
In the state of California, non-competition is illegal so there is no such
agreement.
