1. Whole fresh foods are always the healthiest choice
2. Try to limit protein bars to one per day to ensure a healthy dietary
balance
3. Guidelines for choosing a healthy protein bar:
Total calories should be <= 250
Low in protein--like in the clif bars
Saturated fat should be <= 1/2 the total fat
4. Check ingredient list and avoid:
Partially hydrogenated oil (a.k.a trans fats)
Palm kernel oil or Fractionated Palm kernel oil
High Fructose Corn Syrup
High Maltos
