the Neuromuscular Rehabilitation Engineering Laboratory (NREL) at the UNC/
NCSU Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering, Raleigh, NC, USA.
About US:
The focus of the NREL is to develop innovative human machine interfaces to
help patients with disability to take advantage of novel powered prostheses.

Tasks:
The successful candidate will participate in research activities including
but not limited to: 1) developing innovative algorithms to enable user-
friendly and adaptive human machine interfaces; 2) designing robust
controllers for powered prostheses/exoskeletons; and 3) conducting
experiential studies to validate the feasibility of these developments and
quantify their impacts on the functionality of patients with disability.
Expected Knowledge and Experience (preferred):
1. algorithm development (neural networks, data mining, deep learning,
adaptive control, etc.)
2. knowledge about human locomotion and gait analysis
3. direct interact with human subjects
4. MS in electronic engineering, computer engineering, and computer science
GRE and TOFLE are mandatory.
