Job Description:
System z Software Development organization (in CSTL) is seeking software
engineers taking the responsibilities for design, development and test of z/
OS and other System z software products. This team is an integral part of
the STG System z global team and support System z expansion and growth in
the China market.
Unicode System Services is the Unicode environment on z/OS. It consists of
two main components. One is Unicode application programming interfaces
services, including character conversion, case conversion, normalization,
collation, bidirectional transformation, stringprep, and conversion
information service. The other component is the infrastructure which
provides the Unicode environment needed to run the programming interfaces.
z/OS Unicode team is to design, implement and test functional enhancements
for established z/OS Unicode System Services. It aims to provide a reliable,
serviceable and high performance Unicode engine for z/OS and other large
business application. Team also provides quality services and innovative
solutions to support STG System z global strategy.
This position is challenging and a great opportunity for new initiatives,

Job Responsibilities:
1. Work with the world-wide team on requirement analysis, design,
implementation and verification of new functionality of Unicode System
Services.
2. Maintain and enhance the existing product for quality and other
considerations.
3. Support for L3 Service
4. Work across organization boundaries to achieve objectives.
Job Requirements (skills/experiences/Qualifications)
1. Proficient in C/C++
2. Strong Operating System knowledge on Unix/Linux
3. Solid understanding of large scale enterprise software development
4. Good communication skills
5. Excellent in written and oral English
6. Quick learner with strong problem solving ability
Solid Knowledge or rich experiences in following fields is a strong plus:
1. Encoding/decoding, Unicode
2. Good overall z/OS skills, including TSO/ISPF, Batch (JCL), z/OS operating
3. System z architecture
4. PL/X, Assembler, REXX
5. z/OS problem determination techniques (IPCS)
6. z/OS development processes and tools
7. Software Development Methodologies (e.g. Agile/Lean)

Qualifications (Education/Major/Certificates):
