Cheminformatics Summer Intern 2014 at Dow AgroSciences
Dow AgroSciences seeks one summer intern for the Cheminformatics group
within the R&D Data Analysis group. Send CV to DTomandl [at] Dow.com. Key
job responsibilities will be building predictive QSAR models and improving
the underlying Cheminformatics tools.
Topics of Interest:
• Small molecule and natural product discovery
• Data mining
• Data visualization
• QSAR model development
• Machine learning
• High-performance computing
Requirements:
• Applicants should pursue a Ph.D. in Cheminformatics,
Computational Chemistry, or a closely related field
• Excellent working knowledge of machine learning methods is
required
• Good programming skills are required
• Working knowledge of pipelining tools such as Pipeline Pilot,
KNIME is highly desirable
• Familiarity with small molecule discovery is highly desirable
• Background in organic chemistry is highly desirable
• Working knowledge of high-performance computing is highly
desirable
• Working knowledge of databases is desirable
• Demonstrated ability to write scientific papers is desirable
• Strong communication skills are essential along with an ability
to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary scientists across Dow
AgroSciences R&D
