write to firefox binaries... |

That is true. The option to check for updates is greyed out.
But update manager should pick up 3.5, don't know why it hasn't yet. Maybe
mozilla doesn't want their server to be overloaded.

private mode. :-)
Now I am using 3.6.

Only if it is that easy. :( Please read. You can't if you are running it as
root. I tried it using sudo and it didn't find the update either.
I had to install FF3.5 (somehow 3.5B4 actually and it was able to find real
3.5).
