finally working to my satisfaction.
50W LED. here are the components u need:
LED 50W assembly chip, sold on ebay, about 7.5$ make sure u choose the cool
white color, the warm white is more like a greenish yellow.
50W power supply

heat sink. according to their calculation, this should be fine for 2 50W
chips, but my tests show that 1 50W generates enough heat to raise the temp
to above 70 degrees already. so i use the whole heat sink for my 50W chip

this light fixture has 3 screw-in bulb sockets, I removed the original
sockets to make room for my heat sink.

I drilled 2 holes on the base plate of the fixture, so 2 screws mount the
base plate onto roof. I drill 4 holes on the heat sink , put thermal paste
on the back of LED, bolt the LED onto heat sink, solder the wires from power
supply. then route the screws through the holes on plate, then put the
heat sink beneath the plate, fasten the heat sink onto plate with screws (
holes were already drilled where necessary). drill a hole on the plate,
route the AC side wires of the power supply through the hole so the wires go
between the roof and plate. secure AC wires with wires from the roof, using
wire nuts.
then mount the fixture: press the screws already planted into the plate
holes with a screw driver, through an access hole. aim the screw into the
roof fixture . then secure both screws.
with the cool white LED, the 50W power generates about the same light as 3
23W CFL bulbs (which would be 300W incandescent equivalent). when I used the
warm white, it was not as bright. personally I prefer cool white, if u
want to try warm white, I guess u probably have to try another design, to
use 18X3W led instead of the 50W assembly. I guess this way the light would
be more distributed, and heat dissipation would be better
I'm going to try that when my next heat sink arrives | u****q 发帖数: 24345 | |
