是IE 攻这个的,就选了IE 来申请。过来一看,IE 涵盖面很宽。包括了
1。human factor
2. decision making
3. shop floor design
4. Flexible manufacturing system
5. optimization
6. Product development: product structure, collaborative design, ..., supply
chain modeling, ...
I even met with the NSF research topic in Optimization of assembly line signal
detection by *** math/stochastic ***. It seems to be applied math in
industrial area, although it's not a bad thing.

it is applied math er yi. or u can say it is management
science.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ this is Operations Research
models in this field can be applied in supply chain
transportation, Manufacturing, even finance
IE in US has broader research area. Your ME background can only
benefits u in manufacturing engineering.
Math is more important.

喜欢mechanical的东西多一些。不喜欢IE.
