position is a mid-level mechanical engineer, I am PhD. Haven't received offer
letter yet. Anybody has idea about the salary that I should ask for? Thanks a

check www.salary.com for the base salary in your area. Considering your degree
,just add 4 more years experience.
Besides, don't let them know your range, he who talks about the moeny first
loses, you know what I mean, right? When they send you the offer letter,
negotiate with the money by around 10%. It never hurts if you negotiate. Most
company will leave a room for you to negotiate. If they don't agree, generally
they will also off

adding 4 more years experience? Does my working experience in China account?

the base salary results from www.salary.com,(this website only shows base
salary for you for free), and then you add 4 more years experience salary
level to the base salary. Then you can figure out how much you worth and
compare to the offer price.
If I were you, I would take the offer defintely but negotiate the salary by
around 10%+ more.
I am doing fea in solid mechanics for aerospace...an industry which is forever

foundation for this country, maybe some companies going down, not this
industry. Just wait for your GC, and move to Boeing.. Ha ha. Thanks for the

in big company, there is no much space for bargain i believe.
