The bill would provide older people more generous subsidies — those over 60
get a subsidy of $4,000, or twice as much as 20-somethings — but insurers
would be allowed to charge older people five times as much as younger people
. | b********n 发帖数: 38600 | 2 Given that many fifty-and-sixty-something Americans find themselves
routinely downsized by employers, for no reason other than their age, and
then can often only find inferior employment with firms that either offer no
insurance or only the bare bones variety, the provisions of this proposed
bill would add insult to injury, by compelling these Americans to buy far
inferior coverage at exorbitant prices - prices that the meager $4,000
refundable tax credit would not come close to making up for - thus forcing
these Americans to either go without or tap their retirement savings.
And make no mistake, fifty-and-sixty-somethings cannot afford to be
uninsured or poorly insured.
It's bad enough that Paul Ryan, that Ayn Rand sadist, is obsessed with
gutting Medicare; but now Ryan also wants us to gut our IRA, 401Ks, and
saving accounts in order to pay for the coverage that fifty-and-sixty-
something Americans too young for Medicare MUST HAVE.
Being laid off in your fifties and early sixties is not some remote
possibility; it become the way these heartless, ruthless businesses work.
But at least under the flawed ACA we knew we'd be able to afford the kind of
robust coverage that the typical fifty-or-sixty-something American
absolutely needs.
Not under Ryan's plan. Now he's the one instituting the Death and Debt
panels. | b********n 发帖数: 38600 | 3 Here's the Republican message to America:
Let's keep the biggest health care Rip-Off in the world...and let's make it
even worse.

The GOP mafia wants your money or your life.
Nice racketeering people. | b********n 发帖数: 38600 | 4 The only way to protect that right is through a single-payer national heath
system. The for-profit private market will trample this basic right every
time. The GOP repeal of the ACA (itself a flawed, market-based creation)
puts profit over person, the bottom line over good health. The ACA should
not be repealed until it can be replaced with guaranteed health care for all
. | h******k 发帖数: 15372 | | b********n 发帖数: 38600 | 6 It cannot get more obvious that we need a single payer system. True, that
will not, in itself, stop pointless over-treatment of patients, such as
expending huge amounts of Medicare money to cover futile, often cruel, "
heroic" measures when a person is at the end of life. But single payer would
entirely cut out the health insurance industry, which has absolutely no
reason to exist. What a pointless, useless, destructive industry it is. Get
rid of health insurance industry and install a Medicare-like system for all.
