underachieved' with the players he had. The 1996 national champ is
incredible luck. 好人好报.

recruiting McD all-americans. granted this is not the only indicator but i
feel it is as good as you get in terms of evaluating a coach's recruiting
prowess.
In his 25 years at the helm of arizona, he only had 15 McD's. TO put it in
perspective, every year there are 26 high school ballers who are picked to
be on that roster. For some elite programs like UNC, duke or KY, maybe half
of the team used to have that honor, but in average olson's team has less
than 1 over the years.
He is one of the best fundamentals coach, but not a good in-game coach and a
poor motivator.

died of cancer in 01. the second marriage was a total mess, and many people
attribute it to be the catalysis to the program's downfall.
on top of that, he also had a mild stroke in 06 or 07 which was not
diagnosed initially. he stepped down the next day after the doctor
discovered that a stroke had occurred, and his health condition can't allow
him to handle the stress of the game, or function well as a coach.

了，比如Steve Kerr,还有Gilbert Arenas都是这样。他的风格，就是喜欢打快球，他
说过，他就喜欢速度快的人，其他都不是太重要。
他现在身体好多了，也有了个很不错的人陪伴。 |

in late 90 and early 00, that's why in 01 they can have 3 McD (I thought
even more)
after that, the rumor that coach O would retire soon was always there, that'
s why good players started to wonder and not coming.
some players were really unlucky. Chase B had 3 coaches in 3 years that's why
he dropped into 2nd round. Players all want to avoid things like that.
when Roy left for UNC, do you know how much those players he recruited hated
him?

The coach, Ernie Anderson, said yesterday that in the period after the
Olsons married, he got a report back from an Augsburg professor that Lute
was having a hard time staying awake in class. |

also UA's luck.
