most case can only detect film thickness below 6um(bruker dimesion series
for example, not sure about icon and fastscan) and a high risk of bump the
tip, but interferometer works fine most time. AFM is limited by the big
features existing on the surface, you might have to deal with artifacts &
drastic force interaction change.

| N*******3 发帖数: 625 | 10 Check cross-section of the glass under SEM (if it is very thin, less than
100 micro) or optical microscope (if it is thicker than 100 micro). You can
easily see the thickness of the coating. Check multi points before you make
any conclusion of the thickness.
