对免费云计算资源感兴趣的
有一个Petabyte-scale的云计算资源，可以用来储存数据以及进行科学计算，
有点类似AWS，现在有许多NIH以及NASA等也在使用。这个资源现在对非营利科
研用途是免费的, 上面还有一些pipeline，比如基因组分析一类的。不管是有
大的project或者自己用来玩玩都可以，3/12号有一个demo的seminar教如何注
册和使用。有兴趣的可以快去报名注册。

Hello,
We'd like to encourage you and interested members of your team, lab, and
department to attend our next webconference demo of the Open Science Data
Cloud (OSDC) on Wed 3/12 @ 11am CT.
The OSDC provides petabyte-scale cloud resources that let you easily analyze
, manage, and share data and is one of the world's largest general purpose
science clouds. It is designed to serve medium to large sized research
projects by managing and operating a secure cloud computing infrastructure
that can be shared across a project.
What you get with the OSDC:
Login with your university credentials via InCommon
Launch virtual machines, virtual clusters, access to large Hadoop clusters,
etc.
Access to PB+ of open and protected data
Manage files, collections of files, collections of collections
Manage users, groups of users
Manage accounts, sub-accounts
Efficient transfer of large data (UDT, UDR)
Ways researchers can work with the OSDC:
Apply for a resource allocation and make a discovery
Add data or software to the OSDC
Suggest data or software to add to the OSDC
The OSDC also has 1PB of public data in a wide variety of disciplines,
customizable and sharable user-driven images and snapshots for computing,
connections to fast research networks, a user-friendly support page with
video tutorials, and a friendly and fast support ticketing response system.
The 3/12 demo will cover the following topics and include a live
demonstration of running a compute job on the OSDC:
