NYC Marathon Won't Be Held Sunday: Sources
The New York City marathon will not take place this Sunday, NBC 4 New York
has learned.
Mayor Michael Bloomberg had defended his decision to hold the 26.2-mile race
as scheduled on Sunday, although many New Yorkers complained it would be
insensitive and divert city resources at a time when many are suffering.
Bloomberg said the marathon would "give people something to cheer about in
what has been a very dismal week for a lot of people."
Sources said late Friday that it would not be held Sunday after all.

取消不是一个错误。虽然大部分危险和最不方便的时候已经过去了，但是只要纽约晚一
天走上正常的社会秩序，整个城市就会损失几百上千万。
但是NYCM是一个重要的赛事，彭博可能从头到尾都不想取消。等到周三周四几天各方面
信息汇上来了以后，其实最佳宣布时机大概在这个时候。
到了周四周五两天民愤实在太大了。没电，缺汽油，没暖气，房子被烧了，无法上班，
你可以想像一部分纽约群众的生活。最后彭博也不得不顾及到市民的情绪。
所以有些人口口声声说“我们理解”，其实根本不理解。

point in time?
