It is a little different for international relocation, in which case,
*** pays for tax as well.
So shipping is indeed free
Just noticed someone mentioned “shipping is free”.
I want to remind everyone that even though *** pays for your shipping,
you will still end up with paying taxes.
So please do not ship toilet paper for your own sake

I can second that but with the following considerations:
You may notice some of the Chinese merchandise: suitcases, purses,
furniture, mattress, even toys etc carry a distinct smell like gasoline
or ammonia. That’s chemical being used as glue or accelerant to help
fast drying or in making foam for mattress (e.g. formaldehyde). Even
though there is regulation on how much these chemicals can be used, some
people are sensitive to them even with the slightest amount. Especially
here in US we usually keep all windows closed so if those items carry
such odor, it will take time to dissipate.
If you need a firm mattress, I’d suggest you get one from China. The
firmest one I found here is still too soft.
Well, whatever, I did not have much stuff to move from China during my
relocation, so just filled up the container with 400 rolls toilet paper
.
It’s true that I’m not familiar with the condition here so far, just
heard that others did this in their relocation before, if it is much
cheaper here, it seems not necessary now. But it’s part of the
relocation benefit, the shipment is free, it’s ok though. Kkk….
If you want to experience the toilet paper from China, feel free to ping
me 2 months later~

How much could you save from buying boxes of toilet paper? 30 USD maybe?

I just heard that some friends who have babies here, when they relocated
to the U.S., they bought a lot of this kind of stuff. however, i guess
the both the price and quality is much better in China, 19RMB for 10
Rolls, 200g/roll, I’m not sure if it is worth to do that. kkk... already
moved.
My guess is, Dawei just moved here from China and not familiar with the
local stores, and bought it overpriced from some expensive stores. Just
guessing. If that's the case, Dawei, I would suggest Costco. If you do
not have a Costco card yet, try Target.
LOL (laugh out loud). This is the first time I'm aware of toilet paper
or tissue paper being super expensive here in US. There are always
coupon special in Sunday newspaper and/or sale on toilet/tissue paper.
Besides the quality in US is softer and resilient to poking your fingers
through it. Hehe, i am sorry, I can't resist.
Toilet paper? I thought huge bulk in the Costco is pretty cheap already.
I'm not sure its price in China, though.

厨房的一套东西还是国内的用着顺手，尤其是瓷器，这边老美的瓷器太笨重了。还有我
老婆从国内淘
宝上买了很多发卡啊搞头发的乱七八糟的小玩意儿，说这边不知道哪儿有卖的，ebay上
加上运费就贵
了去了。
Also reading materials in Chinese – those stuff is hard to find here.
麻将, 紫铜火锅, 云南汽锅, 紫砂茶具. 化妆品这边虽然便宜, 但是大多是欧美品牌.
如果护肤用
品习惯使用亚洲品牌的话, 可以带一点过来. 讲究喝茶的话, 这里好的茶叶不好买, 值
得带. 中国
白酒这里很难买到, 喜好的话可以带一些.
如果有集装箱，如果你喜欢洗碗（不会选择用洗碗机）的话，带点精美的瓷器吧~顺便
帮俺带一套

说得好，什么都不用带，最不用带的就是礼服。这边贵的是人工。
我让国内朋友带东西过来都是一些常见的感冒药之类的，方便好用。
十年前来美国的同事可能曾经觉得美国的东西贵；现在来美国，你会觉得什么都比国内
便宜。房子，
车，衣服，鞋子，化妆品，包…. 甚至大米，白面，苹果，香蕉。。（不过美元工资
涨的也慢还不停
贬值）。
美国比国内贵的都不是“东西”：比如AT&T的月租，幼儿园的学费，private lesson…
, 搬家，保
姆…
国内有许多东西在这边买不到好的，值得带：比如绿茶，瓷器，我自己喜欢带一些山西
沁州黄的小
米，新疆和田的大枣什么的回来；还有书；或者非常中国特色的东西，国画，旗袍。。。
还有些国内的东西功能强大：比如国内的DVD, xbox，Wii 什么的，超强兼容。
还是少买东西，多带人民币来吧。性价比最好。
带点药过来。。。这里看病又贵又麻烦。。。
It’s impossible your Levi’s worth that much in China, not even close to
$500, it’s all called呼诱. All日常用品is cheaper in China still, get some
small stuff used daily will save you some money. If you have extra RMB
cash, don’t exchange to US$, you know the reason.
To be honest, just bring $$$, everything you will find out it’s cheaper
here given the fact of current inflation in China.
Let me give you a quick example, my younger sister asked me to bring her
a few Levi’s jeans as I am going back to China soon, I managed to get 4
jeans for 60$ in the Blackfriday holiday, whilst each jean is 800-
1000RMB I was told.
To answer your question very quick of tuxedo and mountain bike, Don’t,
both are cheaper here for the same quality.

1。娃中文书，国内小学教材（这个ms2年后才可能用上。。。）
2。娃中文字卡，大张的。
3。娃的中国传统服饰，不同年龄多几套，nnd上次人家告诉我2岁的比这里4岁的号还大！
4。小件工艺品，送人用。
5。等娃大些，也许带瓷器餐具过来。
6。花椒等等调味品。
7。发卡类的头饰。
8。棉内裤，某个牌子的BRA，好看的袜子
9。棉布的家居服（假定我爸妈的品味不那么雷人或者我有朋友能帮我挑选）
10。taobao上的情侣t恤。
如果有自己的房子，那么装饰品啥的吧，如果孩子上小学或者我上学，那么专业书优先
