especially when he/she got multiple offers. But I will only refer the person
who think MapR is his/her top choice. If not, please do not let me refer
you, you can apply for the job by submitting your resume through the company
's website.
I have a reason for that. If I refer people who only use my company as
backup and reject the offers after going through the whole process, that
will be hard for me to refer other people who really want to join the
company in the future. Please understand that. I do not have the
responsibility to refer the person that I do not know.
If you are seriously looking for a job, please appreciate the people who
share the job information here and do not blame them if they do not provide
referral. That is not their responsibility to refer someone who do not know.
If you think Chinese people have the responsibility to help Chinese people,
then we have to do that in mutual-way. I referred quite a few folks before.
For everyone I refer, I spent at least half a hour to speak them on the
phone and some people even more. One guy from east cost got an offer. The
company paid him from east cost to San Jose for interview and I also gave a
lot of good comments for him. But after he got the offer, he rejected right
away even without negotiating and giving the hire manager a clear reason for
the rejection. The whole team was not happy about that and they all asked
me what's going on.
Regarding to whether it is easy to get an offer, I will say it is not easy,
but the company is looking for good engineer candidates eagerly to build
successful business.

发帖数: 63 | 10 I agree a lot of engineers are indian there. That is because the co-funder (
CTO )and some early stage engineers who build the products are indian
engineers. But there are also plenty of Chinese engineers there. I do not
think 80% are indian engineers. The indian engineers there are pretty
decent and nice to work with. With the company expanding, hope more Chinese
engineers join the company and enter the big data platform world.

off to flight there, but you want to confirm the company will not cancel the
interview for you on that day. The same thing for the company. For a
company specially startup company, it is a lot effort to schedule onsite
interview and issue an offer for an candidate. There is nothing wrong for
the hiring manager to ask. But nobody enforces the candidate to accept the
job offer.
If you have a chance to be the hire manager, you would understand more about
the difficulty of hiring a candidate. Sometimes, hiring a good team member
is even harder than being hired by a good company.
