since most of my knowledge about group theory is from physics books. So
I hope that I can study group(especially Lie group/algebra) in a more
systematic way. But I still hope that this book give some attention on physics,
especially on today's theoretical physics(QFT, string....).
Anyway, my major is physics, not math. I ahve some interest in the condensed
matter. So if that book can include something about that, it would be better,

When I first study group theory, Ma Zhong Qi tought that course. But I really
hate his style and his book. At that time, probably I learnt sth. But I forgot
everything shortly after the class. And this situation gave me too much
trouble.
The problem in Ma's book is that he includes too much stuff, bust loses the
logic which is extremely important for me.
Cheng and Li's book has excellent explaination on SU(N) in one chapter.
Polchinski' book

Stancu's "Group theory in subnuclear theory",

Besides what you have learned, geometry is very helpful. K. Nakahara's
<> is excellent. But to be honest, I only read
a few chapters. I also need to learn more goemetry. Studying string is really
a hard job, at least to me. Probably because I am too dumb. And there is even
no good and updated text book. I don't like Polchinski's book. Fortunately,
there will be an excellent text book appears soon (maybe half
