And, as an added bonus, there will be two armed Coast Guard boats escorting
the ferry to and from; see how they handle potential threats when they
maneuver to drive away other boats that wandered dangerously near the ferry'
s cruising course.
On the island, you can go to a flower garden http://www.bloedelreserve.org/, admission required. Or, have a stroll in downtown and the nearby Waterfront Trail (search for yourself on Google Maps), and sit down and eat at Pegasus Cafe. There are also a couple of state parks by the seaside with a great beach.
