Job Description:
Analyze statistical data processing problems, applying statistical and
econometric theory and methods, to design, develop, and implement computer
systems and programs.
Job Functions/Duties
1. Analyze user requirements, procedures, and problems related to
statistical data programming and analytic needs to automate or improve
existing systems and review computer system capabilities, workflow, and
scheduling limitations for the development and maintenance of data
collection and data management system.
2. Define the goals of the system or program and design how it will meet
those goals using various econometric and statistical techniques and
principles to ensure efficiency and completeness as well as predict and
measure outcome and consequences of design.
3. Coordinate tests and observe use of the system to ensure it performs as
planned.
4. Review and analyze computer printouts and performance indicators to
locate code problems, and correct errors and recommend solutions as needed.
5. Prepare and maintain technical documentation of data and analysis files.
6. Software used include but is not limited to: SAS, STATA, C, C++, ACCESS,
and Excel.
Job Qualifications:
1. Master’s Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, or Economics or its foreign
educational equivalent; plus
2. 3 months of education, training or experience including applied
statistics, statistical analysis and econometrics.
