Obama: "So you wanna move money out of US and to a foreign account, huh?
Hmmm, such action hurts the stability of and confidence in US capital
market and I therefore disapprove it. Your money is locked here in US."

1. Foreign banks may or may not honor US requests to close an account.
2. This gives new incentive to the existence of underground banks or other
forms of informal capital flow.
For one thing, you can just drive down to Mexico with a car load of cash and
nobody would stop you. With a US passport, you can even open a bank account
there and do whatever. By the time anybody gets you, your money is already
thousands of miles away. Is it worth it for Uncl

Like what I thought the other day, at least some people are using printed
paper to suppress gold's comeback relative to other commodities.
I can see the price is still under control this year, not sure about five
years from now. I mean, how much physical delivery can they still make?
