sandwich, plain toast, etc.
For smaller kids, they do not understand what is good for them and they want
what they like. I'm more flexible with the kind of food, but limit the
quantity if it's within one hour of practice.
I would prefer water to sports drink. Only give my boy sports drink during
a meet.
