Many foreigners are awed by futuristic buildings in Chinese cities. A
British friend of mine, who lived in US for a few years and will return to
US, was VERY impressed by Shanghai's new buildings. However, those buildings
do not have "Chinese characteristics" but instead can be put anywhere in
the world. |

发帖数: 6973 | 4 You misunderstood me. I didnot mean to say that Shanghai was ancient;
Shanghai was composed of villages until foreigners took it in mid nineteenth
century.
Whjat I meant to say is why China can't build new buildings that is of
ancient styles. Maybe not skyscrapers (becasue China had none centuries ago)
but low-rise buildings.
