crystal display). (In the belief that LCD was in the process of surpassing
plasma display in the large-panel category, the companies in Taiwan
abandoned the latter technology last year.) News about Taiwan rarely
mentions glass substrate, which is suppied locally a Japanese company and
corning, as no Taiwanese company makes it.
(2) Based in Corning (name of the town), New York, Corning makes glass and
ceramics.
