hero in Late Position. 7s9s
check to hero hero raise to 4 BB
fold fold small blind fold big blind call.
flop come 7c9cjc.
Hero bet pot about 10BB to test water.
BB think a bit and reraise 3 times of Heros bet.
Hero?
what is your read and what would you do. | p*******n 发帖数: 776 | 2 I'm absolutely a beginner. Just my opinion, please comment.
I assume BB has at least a flush, or even a straight flush. So even hero has
a slim chance to hit a full house, it's still not enough to win. Since
there's not much read for BB, I would assume he's not bluffing. If I were
hero, I would fold.

| b*****t 发帖数: 52 | 3 Thanks for the input. I appreciated it a lot.
my thought was: this is at the afterflop stage, he called me with a raise
preflop. so I assume he could have K,A,Q and if he indeed hit flush, he
either have a nuts flush or second to it. Shouldn't he smooth call set up a
trap for it?

| d*****0 发帖数: 1500 | 4 in previous 20 hands, what was hero's pfr/vpip?
what was villain's pfr/vpip? Any show down?
I think it does matter.
In average situation, i would fold.
Because Check/raise in such a wet board usually means bottom 2+ and has a
very low fold equity.
You only want to c villain's big pairs with flush draw or a combo draw hand,
which still have a good equity against you. | s*******o 发帖数: 4896 | 5 In fact, the worse case is not a flush but a set.
If villain got a set he would raise huge in this position and willing to get
it in.
hand,

| d******u 发帖数: 142 | 6 think pot bet at flop is debatable. with such flop, in most cases, villain
either fold to any bet or call/raise to any bet. a 1/2 pot bet could achieve
the same.
Your hand is at very low range of a pot bet, so probably better to fold
unless you have a strong sense he is bluffing.
I may be temped to go all-in in some cases depending on the opponent and
stack size. | D********i 发帖数: 78 | 7 semi-bluff with both nut flush draw and gut-shut str8 draw.
Ac10x or Ac8x
maybe? |
