this is the best lake, and it is far from anyplace.
So drive 6 hours there.
Then go up along 101, Cannon Beach (OR), Seaside (OR)
Astoria(OR and WA boundary),
then go along the Columbia river to the east,
Portland, Cascade Locks (OR),
then going back to I5, going north to visit Mt Ranier (WA),
if you have time, you can visit St Helen, the most famous volcano first
before you arrive Mt Ranier.
After back, you can drive home along I5.

The road around Crater Lake will be closed. You can still drive to one point
to overlook the lake though. View is not bad, but 10 min visiting time
might not worth 10 hours driving, unless you want to spend 3-4 days
backpacking there.
In the middle of the rain season, more than 80% chance, you will end up
seeing Rainier's pic in visitor center and can't see even a piece of the
mountain right in front of you. More than 95% chance, you won't be able to
see the top. What's the point to go Rainier during winter time for non-local?
And plan to finish your trip everyday before 4pm, if you don't like to use
your headlamp and do sight seeing in the dark.

那些是我去过的，只不过不是冬天去的，发帖的时候也没考虑那么多，怎么叫胡说啊？
