我有一个硕士学位在手，博士最晚夏天毕业。找工找了半年，终于拿到一个学校的行政
职位，但最晚要求2月中旬开始。于1月4号向Vermont Service Center（VSC）提交OPT
申请，目前状态是Initial Review。从多方面的信息了解到: it takes 3 months on
average for an OPT petition to be approved and it varies case by case. VSC
is very strict to approve expedite requests. 对在2月12号前被批很没有谱。所以
，想请教各位前辈如何处理这一窘境：
1。请教过来前辈，你们的CASE花了多长时间呢？这样我可以有个参考。
2。不管死活，给VSC 要求加急处理，但用什么理由能最好地说服他们呢？
3。曾经给将来的学校说大概15-40天能批下来 （国际学生办老师的乐观估计）。他们
设这个职位已经有半年多了，所以希望我不要晚于2月中旬开始。我想和他们提顺延开
始日期，但感觉很难堪，一是因为开始日期是自己争取的，二是将来的大 |

我的case也是在vermont center,1月12号申请的opt，offer要2月8号开始工作，给800
电话要求加急，结果被拒，现在都2月6号了，不知道怎样的材料才够证明serious
status.

expedite processing, and received card production info online on 01/29/10.
My case: I asked for expedite processing last Thursday, checked with them
this Thursday, and was told to wait. No denial or approval of my request for
expedite processing. I told them it's out of non-profit interest that I
requested for expedite processing. I also said I am depend on loan for a
living (that's true) and haven't worked for over two ye |

发帖数: 20 | 5 Nebraska center: my case was summitted on 24 dec and get approved by 28 Jan.
Card has beed delivered three later after approved.
If you have a job offer letter, it may be faster than others but not
guarranted.

发帖数: 313 | 6 Thank you for sharing. For VSC, I heard nobody got approved for expeditious
processing. I read something that if a request for expediting a case is
approved, the applicant should receive an approval notice in 72 hours.
Otherwise, it's denied.
I also found one work note that says the average waiting time for OPT at VSC
is 33 days in 2009. |

我的工作2月8号开始，他们在4号拒绝加急申请，真的不明白如何才是符合加急的

发帖数: 193 | 8 跟我的情况太像了！我是1/13寄出，付了offer letter要求2/8开始工作，2/3电话加急
，2/5被拒，说是没有足够材料证明serious，真不知道要怎么证明啊！
不知道你现在的OPT批了吗？

我的仍然没动静。要求加急，同样被否。
VSC向来极少批加急（所有加急如果在72小时内没有被批就被视为不符合加急条件），
除非你的申请超过了90天。唯一可以安慰的是大多数申请在40-60天之内会被批准。他
们也在考虑设立加急服务，但多收1000块。 |

01/04/10 mailed out to VSC
01/05/10 received
01/08/10 Notice Date
01/11/10 Receipt Received
02/18/10 Card Production Ordered and was told card will be mailed within 30
days.
So it took about 40 days from Notice Date to Card Production Date. This is
also true for one of my online school mates.

"On February 22, 2010, we mailed the new card directly to the address we
have on file. You should receive your new card within 30 days."
I would suggest please apply at least 60 days before your starting date
since the spring peak time is coming. |

发帖数: 313 | 14 看到版上有同学因为OPT没有及时批下来而失去了offers,心里真的很难过。三个月内要
找到工作的规定太让人压抑了。考虑到维持身份的问题和OPT批准的时间，在starting
date前80天左右申请pre-completion是比较保险的。 |

1/13 sent application to Vermont via USPS express with offer letter,
asking start date as 2/8
1/19 notice date
1/22 receipt received
2/3 called to expedite, 说是5 business days之内给消息
2/5 got email that expedite was denied
2/17 called again to expedite
2/25 没有任何消息，called again，被告知继续等
下午6点收到email，card ordered
不知道是哪一次call起作用了，还是本来也处理到了

楼上的比我递交申请晚了1个星期已经收到消息了，恭喜了
我周五收到uscis的信，拒绝了我3个信息前mail给他们的加急申请，崩溃，3个星期前
？！他们有这工夫拒绝还邮递的时间，为什么就不能看看材料呢，我的工作是2月8号
starting date, manager一直在催。
周一电话加急再试试。blessing! |

I recieved the mailing notice on 02/22 and received the card three days
later.
Today is my third day of starting work. |

Finally~,跟manager和HR更新了，给了22号开始工作，貌似要带着ead card，所以这个
星期又再等待中，我的opt life阿~~~ |

days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we
