are strictly comparing MSRP to a sale price, but this is more for those who
were looking at the Samsung Intercept on VM, which had people in a tizzy
here over the past several months when prices were $170-$180.
Anyways, Virgin Mobile has a new Android phone that is in many Targets and
starting to arrive at RadioShacks. It's not available online yet, and is
technically launching February 1st. If you want it at Target and it is not
out, ask the clerk to check DPCI #080-02-0724, and they can see if they have
any in the back.
The Optimus V is almost a perfect clone of the Optimus S at Sprint, and will
cost $149.99 off-contract, with plans starting at $25/month for unlimited
data on Sprint's 3G network, unlimited texts, and 300 minutes/month. I
bought one yesterday, and can definitively say that it is better than the
Intercept in almost every way except that it doesn't have a physical
keyboard.
It comes with Android 2.2 (very stock version), 3.2" 480 x 320 touchscreen,
3.2 MP camera (no flash though), 3 processors - 600 MHz CPU, 400 MHz modem/
phone, 200 MHz GPU - making this much snappier than the Intercept, Swype
keyboard, and other nice features.
If you want to save $10, go to RadioShack's homepage for the first time in a
browser, and enter your email to receive a $10 off $40 coupon, bringing the
total to $139.99.'
